X chi è interessato incollo in coda i post relativi. NightShift -> As I posted on DI AutoClutch=Off is not working for me and I can shift without bothering to operate the clutch. If I slam 1st gear in with no throttle the car will seemingly just limp forward at 7 kph endlessly despite the engine being stalled, dragged along by some invisible force.Falcon77 -> The same happens to me, with shifter enabled, I can change gear without using clutch. Besides, when I press clutch and engage 1st gear the car stalls. I have found out that with shifter enabled clutch does not reach its maximum range when full pressed. Using paddles instead of shifter works fine. Kunos -> it is impossible to properly handle mischanges using the shifter. The system would be in a non valid state with the controller saying one thing and the sim saying something different. Until they create a force feedback H pattern gearstick this is the best we can do. From my point of view, using a H pattern is more difficult than using a sequential arrangement so, at the end of the day, the advantage of being able to shift without lifting is mitigated by the fact that you have to fight with the stick and potentially insert the wrong gear in (i did a 6th 3rd instead of 5th yesterday online and my race was over with a broken engine). NightShift -> As I see it the sim has the final word about which gear the virtual transmission is in. Just prevent the new gear from engaging, that's all. The worst that can happen is some simdriver with no understanding of how manual transmissions work will be confused. Falcon77 -> I haven't tried it but from the reports it seems it works differently than LFS I don't suggest nKP to copy LFS, but their system is a good compromise I think: Of course you cannot prevent the driver from changing the gear on the stick, but you can delay the actual engaging of the new gear until the revs match. Actually that's pretty much how it would happen if you changed gear on a manual box without using the clutch.. This still allows you to change gears without using the clutch, but it's actually (more than) half realistic. Kunos -> i remember trying that.. it works until you are actually with rpm faster than the required match.. it doesnt work so well when they go lower.. you find urself in neutral with no understanding of why the stupid gear isn't going in. Dustin Dawes -> Well, In LFS instead of showing "N" as a gear, it shows "-" on the HUD/Dashboard to designate no gear to create that distinction between Neutral or a missed change. Perhaps that might eliminate some confusion, and then also put a message (as 1.03 had when you messed up a gear change without simple gear on) explaining what you need to do to rectify this. Speaking from being a hardcore LFS player since early S1 days, and living through so much of the development, it's quite intuitive and instantly you know "Oh, I messed up, I guess I gotta dip the clutch". Gnomie -> Not sure if this is a bug, but I've noticed that even with autoclutch and simple gear turned OFF, I can still shift up and down with all cars without using my clutch pedal or having to lift off..! What's up with this? NightShift -> LFS actually allows for clutchless shifts, and in doing so it's a bit generous in that the gear will pop in as soon as the revs are matching. IMO that's a bit of an unnecessary addition (how many ppl will take the time to perform clutchless shifts in the heat of a race anyway?), so I'd be more than happy if nKp just prevented the gear from engaging, and until the stick is returned to neutral. BTW it's already hard enough to get ppl to use H shifters they have, I don't think FFB shifters are coming any time soon! Edited October 4, 2009 by NightShift
Edited October 4, 2009 by Sacha
