    Fanatec ClubSport Pedals V3

    dal blog Fanatec It was time for a major re-design for one of our most popular products and the result are the new ClubSport Pedals V3. Our target was to make ultra high-end pedals with features nobody else can offer and with the most advanced technology on the market. At the same time we wanted to keep the price low and affordable. The completely new and custom designed 90 kg load cell and other improvements will also increase the durability a lot. No need to buy spare load cells anymore. All existing pre-orders of V2 in Europe and USA will be upgraded to V3 and the first products are already on the way to the warehouses. Full details will be revealed this week.
  2. Although it looks familiar to you it has almost no part which has not been modified or replaced to make it a better base. Our focus was durability, durability, durability and then performance. And while we made a radical re-design, we decided to make an offer nobody can refuse. The smoothness, vividness and precision of a Direct Drive wheel combined with a torque increase of about 75% and (optional) compatibility to the latest gaming consoles. Your racing simulations will feel different and new to you. 5 Rock Solid Our focus was to achieve high durability even for hardcore users. • Improved QR release with rubber o-ring and less tolerance in production • A brushless motor which can be cooled much easier as it gets hot on the outside and not on the inside so heat can be transfered better • New cooling system featuring an additional fan on the backside right behind the new huge heat sink • Integrated heat sensor inside the motor • Motor can now even be operated at 180 C° although the FOR overclocking would be de-activated already at 120 C° and FF would shut down at 130°C. The motor has plenty of power so most people will not use max settings anyway. And during betatests it never happened that a motor was shut down or the FF was cut due to overheating. • Ball bearings on the motor axis and bigger ball bearings inside the pulleys so we can increase the belt tension and avoid any belt slip. At the same time we have much less drag in the system. • Magnetic sensors instead of the optical so we avoid problems with dust and scratches • New main cable • New electronics • And many other small improvements to the overall build quality 4 Power. A lot. The new motor is custom designed and exclusive to Fanatec. Although the gear ratio has been changed to increase the rotation speed, it delivers about 75% more torque than the CSW B V1. This means over 7 NM of sheer power and this is enough to use even heavy rims with no disadvantages. The size of the power supply has also increased in order to feed the big motor. 3 Brushless Servo A brushless servo motor is currently state-of-the-art for force feedback systems and in principle this is exactly the same motor as the most expensive direct drive base units out there. • Smooth performance with no cogging (in combination with our Poly-V belt drive system or direct drive) • Easier to cool as the heat is on the outside of the motor and not on the motor shaft • Strong axis with ball bearings • Optimized for use in stall at max power • Fast acceleration • More efficiency -> more torque with same power We had to develop entire new electronics for that motor as the motor driver is quite complex. Now that it is done we can easily use it for smaller brushless motors or a direct drive wheel. 2 Next Generation The ClubSport Wheel Base V2 is the next generation of ourwheel base but there is also a strong demand of wheels for “Next-Gen” consoles. People were asking us to make their wheels compatible to the Xbox One and Playstation 4 but if we want to make it official and legal then we need to follow the rules of the console makers and they clearly do not allow that. So how can we make a product where there is a chance that the customer can keep at least most of the equipment he purchased? We can easily make the pedals, shifters and handbrake compatible and this is what we did but what about the base unit? And how can we make a product multi-platform compatible if we can only get approval for a license if the product has only the symbols of either one console on it? We came up with an idea which brings modularity to a whole new level and protects your investment. If you play on PC then just go ahead and purchase the wheel base as it is and you will not be bothered with symbols which might hurt your eye. But if you want to enjoy the painless simplicity of a console with its great exclusive racing simulations then you will get the option to buy an optional steering wheel which will add full console compatibility to this base. We want to achieve compatibility to both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and we are happy to announce that we already signed a contract with one of them. We will announce this product at the end of this year. There will be multiple steering wheels available in different price ranges and they will compatible to several Fanatec base units from mid-range to direct drive. 1 By Invitation Only The great response we get from our beta testers lead us to the conclusion that the demand for this product will be much bigger than the supply. Production output will be lower as before as we spend even more time on quality control and testing. At the same time we want to honor the loyalty of our existing customers and want to offer a special pre-order discount for the owners of the current ClubSport and CSR Elite base so that they can enjoy a little upgrade advantage. This is how it works: • We will send an e-mail to our webshop customers with an invite code. La Fanatec, ormai famosissima azienda tedesca che produce periferiche di alto livello per il simracing, ha presentato al SimRacing Expo conclusosi lo scorso weekend al Nurburgring, le sue ultime novità, che saranno disponibili a breve. Come potete vedere dalle video anteprime presenti qui sotto (il secondo filmato sarà disponibile domenica prossima alle ore 11,15), si tratta come prima cosa di due nuovi volanti: il primo dedicato agli appassionati della Nascar (con tanto di logo), mentre il secondo replica del modello montato sulle Porsche GT da competizione.   8. Riassumiamo in un singolo post tutti i punti toccati durante la nostra videorecensione, nel caso non abbiate il tempo di guardarla per intero. ITA CSL P1 All'inizio, i materiali usati sembravano un po' "economici" e le palette del cambio non sembravano essere rapide nella risposta Usandola, tali impressioni sono sparite e la corona si è dimostrata perfetta da usare sia con auto GT che Formula; le palette hanno sempre funzionato a dovere Il display è un'ottima aggiunta: ad un primo sguardo sembra una semplice aggiunta per far felice i simracer, in realtà è incredibilmente utile durante la guida in quanto permette di sapere sempre a che giri motore si è, anche guardandolo solo con la coda dell'occhio Ci vuole un po' per abituarsi alla posizione dei pulsanti, in quanto non sono disposti in maniera simmetrica e si devono mettere le dita a due altezze differenti sui due lati L'unico punto debole del rim è il materiale con cui è rivestita la corona: lascia sempre un senso di "attaccaticcio" sulle mani, soprattutto durante le giornate più calde. Sarebbe ottimo se Fanatec potesse rilasciare in futuro un rim simile, ma con un grip migliore (chiaramente ad un prezzo più alto) Non è presente un sistema di quick release come accade invece sugli altri volanti Fanatec, ma l'aggancio si è dimostrato solido e questa soluzione è stata adottata nell'ottica di contenere i costi. CSL Elite Pedals Di base la pedaliera è venduta nella configurazione a due pedali. CSL Elite Pedals By default the pedals are sold in the two-pedals configuration. It is possible to add the third pedal with a load cell This time there are potentiometers instead of magnetic or hall sensors Potentiometers have 12 bit resolution, load cell has 16 bit resolution The higher resolution can be clearly seen with a calibration tool like DiView While driving you don't get a clear idea of the higher resolution, but in general you feel a great continuity in the pedal movement, that makes the driving very fluid and precise Default pedals have slightly different spring resistence Using the foam you can make the clutch/break pedal harder to push and can simulate the clutch bite The third pedal now works entirely as a load cell, there is no spring that then pushes on the load cell Using different elastometers and brake force you can get a lot of different settings, perfect for those who want a longer or shorter travel and resistence Adjusting pedals position always require to remove one of the two at the sides, it would have been nice to be able to adjust the position by letting the two bars exit from the sides, but it's a very minor problem Brake feeling is similar to the one you get while pressing a real car brake pedal with engine off, it takes sometimes to get used, but after that it is really rewarding The new driver also has a min/max settings that eliminates every possible deadzone Pedal's plate can be changed, there is no good support for heel and toe Three pedals solution might seem expensive, but it's a set fully made of metal and it is worth it CSL Elite Base The base at first seemed a competitor for T300, but as Fanatec says it aims at T500 That target is fully reached and is even better After driving professional steering systems that offer a lot of precision and strenght, the CSL Base is the first "commercial" base that gives a similar feeling When you think the FFB is clipping, in reality there's still room and it makes the driving very satisfying After testing the base with WheelCheck we saw there is no dead zone. At power on there's the standard calibration process, it always starts in XBox mode, but that's a limitation required by Microsoft and switching to PC mode is really fast The base has 1080 degrees of rotation There is some noticeable rattling, something unusual for a belt driven system, but it's a minor issue The base can be configured as usual with the settings on the rim By default, the base has a very "elastic" feeling, something similar to T300. Setting Drift Mode to 2 or 3 that feeling completely disappear and makes the base really shine, something that we've never been able to reach with some competitors' bases. If you're planning to upgrade your hardware, take in serious consideration this base as it feels almost like a new beginning for commercial (non professional) steering systems. ----------------- La tedesca Fanatec annuncia il lancio della nuova linea di prodotti denominata CSL Elite Series, che comprende la CSL Elite Wheel Base con servo motore per i volanti (prezzo 319€) e la pedaliera in metallo CSL Elite Pedals LC (prezzo 219€). We essentially used the technology of the ClubSport series and concentrated on pure performance and durability rather than fancy materials or a the prefect finish you know from the ClubSport series. Of course we also had to cut a few features but on the other side we also added a few innovative features which cannot be found anywhere else. Therefore the CSL products are 100% Fanatec and state-of-the-art! Both products are sold separately and of course they are compatible to most previous Fanatec equipment. CSL Elite Wheel Base - Super strong and fast brushless servo motor which delivers 6 NM on the steering axis - Single belt drive unit with just one belt between axis and motor - Automotive grade QR system and compatibility to all Fanatec CSL or ClubSport steering wheels - 1080° of rotation. Good for drifting - Rev Lights integrated on the base - Strong table clamp integrated - 2 shifter ports plus handbrake port. There are CSL Shifters and handbrake also coming up next CSL Elite Pedals and CSL Elite Pedals Loadcell Kit - Solid full metal construction - Basic set comes with two pedals but with the optional Loadcell Kit you add a loadcell brake and transform the former brake pedal into a clutch pedal. - Great brake feeling even on the basic set as it comes with a strong metal spring and a PU foam damper/spring - The loadcell brake pedal is actually a big loadcell. The whole arm is the sensor and it measures pedal pressure of up to 90kg. Of Course you can adjust the brakeforce during gameplay. - Travel and stiffness of the LC brake can be easily and quickly adjusted without the need of tools - You can choose between 3 surfaces for your pedal plates. Blank metal, rubber or a sandpaper anti-skid patch My team has worked a long time and very hard to bring those products to the market. We know that a lot of people want to know what the status is but we cannot announce anything before the contract is signed. We have a good relationship with Sony but we need to follow the rules and although there are absolutely no points of disagreement, sometimes things takes a while because of procedures and work flows.     E' stato rilasciato il nuovo Fanaleds v2.5G, il software di supporto che permette di utilizzare e configurare al meglio i vari display e periferiche. Fra le novità più importanti di questa release segnaliamo il supporto software ad F1 2018 e Assetto Corsa Competizione, il supporto hardware per il Fanatec McLaren rim e per il Precision Sim Engineering LCD screen.

    Fanaleds 2.4g released This version of Fanaleds should offer full compatibility with the latest version of RaceRoom Racing Experience (R3E) again. Also the RPM value in F1 2016 is fixed. Fanaleds is a free plugin for your sim racing hardware. Originally started on Fanatec wheels that make use of telemetry from games which is shown on the display. This telemetry information includes things like the current speed and the gear you're in. Some games even give us the option to detect wheel locking and making the brake pedal on the Clubsport Pedals vibrate to simulate ABS. Dopo la delusione con l'annuncio del ritardo a fine aprile della versione per PC del Podium Racing Wheel direct drive, a causa di gravi problemi elettrici, la tedesca Fanatec lancia il preordine dello stesso prodotto ma in versione per Playstation 4, che sarà disponibile (in teoria), sempre per la fine di aprile. Il Fanatec Podium Racing Wheel direct drive è in preordine da subito al prezzo di 1,499.95€ ed oltre alla base include anche il nuovo volante con licenza Formula 1. Questo modello, oltre ad essere esplicitamente creato per PS4 con licenza, funziona anche con il PC. Con un messaggio pubblicato sul blog ufficiale, come ormai era nell'aria da un pò di tempo, la Fanatec ha annunciato il ritardo nella disponibilità della sua nuova ed attesissima base direct drive denominata Podium Series. Il Fanatec Podium Wheel Base non sarà disponibile prima di Aprile 2019, visto che sono stati riscontrati problemi di elettronica. Per farsi perdonare dal lungo ritardo, la Fanatec regalerà a tutti i clienti che non cancelleranno il proprio ordine il nuovo volante ClubSport F1 2019 che dovrebbe essere rilasciato a maggio del prossimo anno (quello 2018 è già disponibile). After reading some comments on the live stream we thought it was a good idea to make this video in order to explain some points in more depth. This video summarises the unique benefits of the Podium DD Wheel Bases, announces pricing and explains the auction system. I will even show a new steering wheel which is in development. We also decided to publish these torque graphs so you can see how our outrunner servo motors behave over time. Even the most expensive DD motors de-rate when they heat up as it is a physical law that heat increases resistance and therefore reduces power. But please consider that it is not typical in simracing that the motor is operated in full stall for 5 minutes or more. In our realistic life test scenarios we reach only 60°C motor temperature if operated with 100% force feedback. But not everybody really wants to drive at 100% Our intention was to create a system where everybody has a fair chance to make a good deal and to eliminate luck. We also want to avoid any technical problems and therefore the auctions are hosted on the Amazon webservers with much better performance of our current server. Side note: We are working on a complete new website and change our server host with it sometime later this year. Our target is to start with the auctions on the 30th of July but only if it was tested carefully and runs stable. The exact timing and all parameters will be revealed later. This is how it works: The DD1 will be on pre-order before the first auction starts and will be available for regular pre-order the whole time. So you have the choice to place a regular pre-order or to take part in the auction system. Every registered customer can place as many bids as he like per auction but is allowed to win only one auction. We want to avoid resellers. The auction starts at 1 USD / Euro and every bid changes the auctionprice for a certain increment (e.g. +5,00) With every bid a countdown is reset. If nobody bids within the countdown, the auction is closed After an auction is closed the next product will be put on auction automatically. We will put as many products on auction until a certain amount (will be announced) of auctions reach a certain price of XXX (will be announced) which is below the regular pre-order price. This will guarantee that a lot of customers will get the DD1 well below the pre-order price and it can go down as far as a couple of Dollars if there is no more demand. Naturally demand will go down the more we put on auction. Auctions will be held in Europe, USA, Australia and Japan but not at the same time. Exact timing and dates will be announced here and on the auction page. We currently plan only one event but if it is succesful then we might make more events in the pre-order phase.
