Guest Uff Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 cut Thanks: it looks like you have graphic card driver which is one year old. Download and install Driver Sweeper (installer version): if it asks you to install some third party programs choose no. Download a new video driver: download the first file here if you have Vista 32 bit download the first file here if you have Vista 64 bit In Windows - go to Control Panel -> Uninstall a program - write ATI in the top right text area - uninstall every ATI element highlighted - reboot your PC and launch Driver Sweeper, then select AMD - Display and press Analyse -> Clean - reboot again your pc and install the new video driver Install this file too: DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) (extract it and launch DXSETUP) It's not necessary as nKP should install everything is needed, but sometimes it's useful. Edit: on the Asus' website you also find the latest driver available for your integrated audio card (I suppose you are using that one): choose your OS (Vista 32 or Vista 64), choose Audio and install the latest version, which is the one at the top (remember to remove first the previous version you might have installed: it should be listed with Realtek name). Edit2: graphic card driver links fixed.
kunos Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Its a great update, 1.2 and 1.3 beta did not even allow me to get on track. This one does, although I am greeted with ear-splitting static noise and this wonderful view: http://dl.dropbox.co...op_ei_toimi.jpg Maybe version 10.7 will eventually work. i'd try to nuke the documents/netkar pro window.. I think the only way to create that mess is to have some corrutped tyre status file or some other status file. By removing everything that lives in documents/netkar pro should give you a total fresh start.

kunos Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 i wonder if that is a problem with having a windows user in non standard characters.. I see your machine name has some finnish characters.. it would be interesting to check 2 things: 1) if that doesnt bother you that much, it could be interesting to create a "johndoe" user and see if that works 2) it would be interesting to be able to have a look at the log file created in "Documents/netKar PRO/logs/log.txt" .. but if the "finnish username" theory is right I would imagine the log wont be there at all.

My username does not have nonstandard characters (nkpro works on my laptop where I have the same username). Here's a link to the log: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3404787/log.7z
kunos Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 nothing interesting in the log.. I can't imagine what could make the car go crazy like that.
Guest Uff Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Thanks for the suggestion but the result is still the same. Did you try what I previously suggested?
Guest brr Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Thanks for the suggestion but the result is still the same. Did you try what I previously suggested? Not yet, reinstalling video drivers is quite an effort and it seems somewhat unlikely that the drivers would cause this type of a problem.
kunos Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 it definetly can't be a graphics driver issues because the sim part isn't working... something that might be worth trying is to get rid of every instance of "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Runtime" from the control panel, then run the netkar installer (which will install a new C++ runitme) or run the C++ runtime installer from the netkar install folder under "runtime/vcredist_x86_2008sp1.exe"
