Il publisher Electronic Arts ci informa del fatto che l'aggiornamento 1.3 per Need for Speed: The Run è disponibile da oggi per i giocatori della versione PlayStation 3 e lo sarà a breve anche per Xbox 360, mentre resta da definire la data di uscita della patch in versione PC, che viene comunque data in lavorazione. Qui di seguito, le migliorie apportate:

• Single-player: Quando i giocatori usciranno dal tracciato, saranno riportati sulla strada (simile al reset nelle partite multiplayer online) invece che all'ultimo check point. Gli incidenti risulteranno ancora in un reset all'ultimo checkpoint.
  
• Single-player: Abbiamo modificato le meccaniche di reset in alcuni tracciati in The Run dove il reset era troppo vicino alla strada principale. Questo dovrebbe ridurre la frustrazione per i giocatori nei punti dove vengono improvvisamente resettati semplicemente uscendo di strada.
  
• Multiplayer: Ridotta la portata delle collision tra piloti nelle gare multiplayer e le reazioni insolite della telecamera.
  
• Multiplayer: Fix per risolvere un problema di connettività riscontrato tentando di unirsi ad una sessione multiplayer su PS3
  
• Multiplayer: Fix per problemi di caricamento e connettività riscontrati su PS3
  
• Autolog: sistemato un problema per cui la lista amici di Autolog appare alcune volte vuota e lo Speedwall mostra "I tuoi amici" invece che i nomi degli amici.

E' disponibile da oggi un nuovo aggiornamento per la versione PC di Need for Speed: The Run che include il DLC Signature Edition Booster Pack, un pacchetto che su Xbox 360 e PS3 era a pagamento e che in questo caso arriva invece gratuitamente, con numerose nuove vetture (Puppet Chevy El Camino SS, Fatlace Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R, Venom Nissan 370Z, Victory BMW M3 Sport Evolution, Falken Porsche 911 GT3...) ed una nuova patch che risolve una serie di problematiche legate al frame rate, al supporto per le periferiche da gioco e alla modalità single player.

EA ha rilasciato un video dedicato all'Italian Edition Pack, un DLC per Need for Speed: The Run che introduce 7 bolidi italiani da lanciare in 10 nuove sfide. Il pack costa 6.99 dollari, almeno in USA dove è già disponibile su PSN, mentre arriverà in Europa solo domani. Questa la lista delle macchine incluse nel DLC.
