Guest Finnro Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Hi Kunos or other guys from Kunos Simulazioni, what are the next steps at the netKar development. Maybe some new content or netKar 2.0? Some information about your plans for the future would be very interesting for the community. Thanks
kunos Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 As soon we'll know, you'll know We still have the trento bondone and the osella on our HD and it is a shame.. not so much for the car ( I have never been a fan of it ) but for the track.. but without a dedicated server mode to run hillclim-like races it would be useless... and writing a new server mode is not something that can be done in few days of work. for sure we're overwhelmed of work throughout august so no news will be out until mid september. lots of good ideas around.. from the "normal" ones to the more "crazy" ones like a netKar version for XBOX Indipendent Live section that i have hacked together during some sleepless nights and it is really something cool (but it'd need months of work to be releasable) or things like netBike or a car mod tool. But with such a tiny staff and very limited resources we have to be careful where we put our efforts on and the idea of just moving on to whatever "netKar 2.0" will be is not to exclude as well.
Vaillant Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 1) ... ( I have never been a fan of it ) 2) ... until mid september. 1) No good! 2) Good!

Do you mean time trials? I'd rather race wheel to wheel up a hill climb (or down for that matter (it was really enjoyable in the original Forza Motorsport)). lots of good ideas around.. from the "normal" ones to the more "crazy" ones like a netKar version for XBOX Indipendent Live section that i have hacked together during some sleepless nights and it is really something cool (but it'd need months of work to be releasable) or things like netBike or a car mod tool. All of those ideas make me giddy with excitement, but certainly netBike would be the main one, as even the early demo was enough to see what an absolute gem it could be. A netKar version for the 360 wouldn't actually be that appealing, due to the lack of support for the G25/27 wheels etc. A car mod tool would certainly interest a lot of people, whether that would result in good quality content's a different matter. Guest McSaltens Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 omg car mod tool? yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss this is what we need to go to heaven
Guest Hoshi Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 So there aren't any plans to bring the Osella in-game? Wouldn't be too complicated (except for adapting the physics) as it is just a new car to implement which is already running in nKar 1.0x. Or are there any legal issues with this car?
