pastone2810
I just discussed the release planning with Stefano. Unfortunately I have to report to you that we decided to delay the 1.0.3 release. The 1.0.3 release package is finished. No new features are going to be added and the biggest problems are solved. The problem is that Stefano is being called to Macau for another project. He will leave on Sunday. Stefano really wants to be available when the package is released, so therefore we decided to delay the release for 2 weeks. Stefano will be back then. The positive effect of this decision is that it gives the test team another two weeks to properly test the final package. Stefano is going to finish a complete build today. This build (instead of a collection of updates) will be presented to the test team for testing. During these two weeks, the test team will test -again- all possible aspects of the sim. Think of all the cars, all the tracks, track day features, multiplayer features, replays, setup system, FullMode, Doom mode, damage, AIM telemetry, framerate, TrackIR, multiplayer demo. This represents a huge task for the test team. A racing simulation is a very complicated software package and therefore we decided to add another two weeks for final testing, just to be sure. We want to be really sure that the package is stable when it is being released, so therefore we made this decision. I understand that this delay is not expected and not nice (we want it out there as soon as possible as well!!!), but we think it is necessary in order to make sure that the final release will be good quality. __________________ Jaap Wagenvoort
