it's. a new rendering engine, new physics engine, new AI engine, new input and output, new audio engine, new gameplay code and a new collision system with all new assets. It uses PBR and ray tracing via Lumen. But apart from that it's the same yes. At the moment not much as the render has seen some updates via Unreal which allow a lot more individual lights with less overhead. We're coding everything new and from scratch so anything is possible within the limits of the game design, time and capacity.
