Long time Al! (RIP RSC)

Hey Lightning - give us a clue, who would I know you as from RSC days (GPL , LFS -?) :) gotta stick together us old timers

I was Lightning1961 on the old boards and was active in GPL, N2003, GTR, F1C, nKP, PWF, rF & mods, SimBin (even before the big move to RSC), used to host nkP server name "Bravo!", was admin in SRO N2003 league for quite some time, took 2nd in the Hurricane500 sponsored by the pits, etc.

Still have your skies in several of my GPL tracks. ;)

Took a couple of years of racing when things went on the big decline, now wishing i hadn't, since i missed some good content, and didn't get all my files caught up before RSC went down. :(

So, Now I'm getting ready to do a major reformat with all the sims I really enjoy

Name in online racing land is either Jason or Scott Bravo, forum handles have always been Lightning61 or 1961

Good to see some of us old farts are still kickin'!

Now you got me curious - i don't use any sort of clutch while driving, just an ordinary foot pedal to roll out of pits or of the grid, while driving i don't use clutch - have AutoClutch set to "off".

I always thought it would slow things down, no? As apparently these straight cut gears don't require clutch while driving?

no clutch while actually driving is correct, assuming you blip properly so as to not chew gears.

i can drive with no auto clutch, but this being the only sim i have that doesn't allow me to use a button clutch causes me to always be pushing the imaginary button while stopped, launching, or going off track.

in a race it would just make me too crazy worrying about it to be worth the trouble getting used to no clutch button for only one sim.

i hope this clarifies for you somewhat. :)

Noticed something today, with auto-clutch on, you can shift down into reverse and hold it then shift into first and release the other paddle to pull away. It isn't really a solution, as it would only be useful off the start but it might make you a little happier :imbarazzato:

Yup, understood :)

You are so much used to instinctively doing it so you miss it alot :)

Hmm just tired to edit some cfg's, without success. It is somewhat a downside, as this that it is now requires real axis, and not everyone has three pedals.

Same here, but with auto-clutch off you can still slam the car into gear, and if you go down the gears quickly enough whilst spinning the engine won
