Un nuovo simulatore è all'orizzonte e proviene dall'Argentina, dove il team REG Simulations, dopo anni di mod su Assetto Corsa, ha deciso di rilasciare un vero e proprio simulatore realizzato completamente da zero. Come si legge dal dev log disponibile sul sito degli sviluppatori, PISTA Motorsport, questo il nome del simulatore, si concentrerà (non esclusivamente) sul motorsport argentino in modo da garantire a questo un'esposizione mondiale al pari di altre categorie nazionali di altri paesi: l'esempio geograficamente più vicino è proprio Reiza Studios con le sue serie brasiliane rappresentate in Automobilista 2. PISTA Motorsport vuole offrire l'esperienza completa del motorsport argentino, dal karting alle categorie nazionali principali. A livello di contenuti il team ha confermato la presenza della FIAT Uno del campionato Turismo Pista Classe 1, ma dagli screenshot pubblicati su Steam è possibile notare anche la presenza di una vettura di F3 nazionale e di una FIAT 600. La fisica è già ad un livello piuttosto avanzato e il team si è servito di dati reali oltre che dei feedback dei piloti. Il modello 3D delle vetture sono realizzati con la tecnologia di scan 3D LIDAR e a livello audio il team si è affidato al motore FMOD. Tra i circuiti, realizzati anch'essi con la tecnologia LIDAR per una maggiore precisione, sono confermati l'Autodromo di Rosario, l'Autodromo Roberto Mouras di La Plata e l'Autodromo di San Nicolas. Non mancano alcune feature che cercheranno di alzare sempre di più l'asticella del realismo, come il meteo dinamico e formazione dinamica delle pozzanghere, che avranno effetti sulla fisica delle vetture. L'idea del team è anche quella di integrare una IA di alto livello che verrà istruita tramite tecniche di machine learning per renderla quanto più realistica possibile. Il team è concentrato al 100% sullo sviluppo e ritiene che la community giocherà un ruolo fondamentale nello sviluppo del titolo. Non sarà sicuramente un'impresa facile visti i concorrenti, ma sapere che c'è un nuovo simulatore in lavorazione è sicuramente una notizia che ci rende entusiasti.
