WSGT2 – RMT Megane Trophy V6 Progress shots.

Un estratto della notizia.

We have been working on the chassis and engine of the Megane Trophy, We have tried to come up with a polycount that will suit all of us out there. Sounds have been optimized since the last videos, and texture work is going into the right direction.

The headlights, backfire and disk glow have been implemented. We are still working on the tail light. At this time , no specular or bump maps are used, so their is still allot of work in that department, but we have almost all basic features in place. Once that is done we can begin to fine tune the aspects that are left. Model, graphics and sound will be optimized. Errors removed, and we will try to Polish every aspect of the car.

All screenshots are WIP and contain placeholders. Also our test driver is pretty much WIP, and will be replaced by a more handsome chap, next update.

Megane Trophy for rFactor 2 progress report

I guess its time for a little update concerning the WSGT2 Renault Megane Trophy project for rFactor 2.

The engine and chassis model is updated now. The backfire is implemented, and the light now work. Basic Disc glow is done.

The cockpit window is also implemented, and we are still working on the driver model textures. We did not decided yet, if we will use a custom driver model, and or helmet, or keep the stock one. Sound work is shaping up nicely.

We are slowly going trough the list of things to do, and next up are the wheels and tires. The Megane will get two sets of rims. both in black and silver. The Megane will also receive a new set of brake calipers. Once that is done , we can start concentrating on Bump and specular maps, and make it come to life.

At this moment we are also looking into the possibility to create some animated parts in the cockpit, but it has no priority at this moment. The Megane is still using stock rF2 physics. There are two versions of the car planned. The sprint and Endurance version. If time permits we will make a little progress video for those who are interested. Still lots to do, but surely the development of the WSGT2 Megane Trophy mod for rFactor 2 continues.

The Megane Trophy is part of the bigger WSGT2 project by RMT. The mod is being build for both rF2 and Assetto Corsa.

Still a long way to go, but we will keep you posted. RMT, not charging for mods since 2006.

WSGT2 – Megane Trophy preview update

I guess its time for a small update regarding the WSGT2 RMT Megane Trophy mod for rFactor 2. The mod is progressing slowly, but surely.
We have been working on some aspects of the mod that needed to be upgraded. The front and rear lights have been optimised, and various functions like working headlights, and brake lights, window reflection, bumbmaps and more have been implemented. The textures still need some updating, and there is still some work on the viewing angles and various coordinates.

Rick is working on the environmental sounds. We still hope that ISI will upgrade the sound department of rFactor2. For now, the sound system is hardly a match for the current generation sims and games out there. The system is basically the same as in rF1. Very limited, and very hard to control and create a dynamic sound. The Megane sounds fine at the moment, but we hope we can raise the bar a little in the future. We are also implementing the 2009 liveries, and are putting the individual inner and outer windows in-game. There is still enough to do. If we get some more spare time, we will record a little video this week, for those who would like to see the Megane in action.

As stated before, this Megane Trophy model is not to be confused with the ISI base content version. This is a scratch build model, for use in the WSGT2 mod project. The model was build back in 2009. We decided to use the model for an rFactor 2 project, to get acquainted with the rF2 workflow. All shown screenshots are grabbed in-game and un-edited using Fraps.

As usual, all is well at RMT.
