La nuova McLaren MP4/18 sembra incontrare, ogni giorno che passa, problemi a iosa. Secondo il portale Planet-F1 la monoposto di Woking potrebbe, addirittura, debuttare a settembre in occasione del GP d'Italia a Monza:
This means that if McLaren are not satisfied with the car's performance in the post-French Grand Prix test they will have to wait until after round 13, the Hungarian race, to test again. Which means the MP4-18A may only make its debut at the Italian Grand Prix in September.
Pare quindi confermata l'ipotesi che questa monoposto rappresenti già il primo passo verso il 2004.
