La versione 1971 del Nürburgring, completa dei layout storici di Nordschleife, Südschleife e Gesamtstrecke, è stata ufficialmente rilasciata come parte del pacchetto DLC Nürburgring su Automobilista 2, già disponibile a $ 9,99 ed incluso nel Season Pass 2020-2022.
Nel 1971, il Nordschleife aveva 160 curve ed era lungo 22,835 chilometri, poco più lungo della versione che esiste oggi. Per quanto riguarda il Südschleife, che alla fine fu abbandonato, quel percorso nel 1971 era molto più piccolo, solo 7,747 chilometri, con 27 curve. E' inoltre ufficialmente disponibile una nuova versione del titolo di Reiza Studios, Automobilista 2 si aggiorna infatti alla V1.4.7, con altri updates e correzioni generali.
