RaceDirector Race Control is a Windows desktop race-operations, telemetry, league-management and rendering application.

FREE ACCESS AND BETA STATUS
RaceDirector includes a permanent Free tier with no time limit. It is not a free trial, it does not expire, and it never converts automatically into a paid subscription. Labels such as BETA describe the development status of features; they do not start a trial or a charge.

INTRODUCTORY OFFER PERIOD
The introductory prices and free Telemetry Overlays offer described below apply for the first 12 months from the date RaceDirector first becomes publicly downloadable through Microsoft Store. After that 12-month period, the stated year-two prices and access terms apply. The permanent Free tier does not expire.

OPTIONAL SOFTWARE SUBSCRIPTIONS
- Silver: £2.99 per month or £30 per year during the first 12 months; the monthly price for new or restarted subscriptions becomes £3.99 from the first anniversary
- Gold: £4.99 per month or £50 per year during the first 12 months; the monthly price for new or restarted subscriptions becomes £5.99 from the first anniversary
- Platinum: £7.99 per month or £80 per year during the first 12 months; the monthly price for new or restarted subscriptions becomes £8.99 from the first anniversary

These subscriptions unlock additional RaceDirector software features. The in-app tier comparison shows the features currently included in each tier, the exact current price and the applicable introductory schedule before purchase.
No post-introductory annual price has been set. From the first anniversary, any available annual price will be shown before purchase and synchronised with the Store listing before it is offered. Existing subscriptions are not silently moved to a different Stripe price.

DATABASE STORAGE AND CLOUD BACKUP
All tiers keep the active workspace database locally on the customer’s Windows device.
The permanent Free tier is local-only. RaceDirector does not upload or retain a cloud database copy for Free users. The always-visible Quick-save .DB control lets the user create or update a separate local database snapshot in a folder they choose.
Silver, Gold and Platinum add private scheduled cloud backup while RaceControl is open:
- Silver: approximately every 2 hours
- Gold: approximately every 1 hour
- Platinum: approximately every 15 minutes

A backup that becomes due during live telemetry capture, a database write or another backup is deferred until it can run safely. These are periodic snapshots, not continuous synchronisation. RaceDirector stores one latest cloud database backup rather than a version history.
Manual cloud backup is included with Silver, Gold and Platinum. Download and restore controls are included with Gold and Platinum. Platinum also includes optional backup on exit. Promotion-only and standalone add-on subscriptions do not by themselves include cloud database backup.
