VELOCIPEDE Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Ricordate Virtual Race Car Engineer? Niente alt-tab. I dati appaiono immediatamente nell’app.
VELOCIPEDE Posted July 15 Author Posted July 15 onRails already turns setup work into a structured process instead of guesswork and encompasses all that I envisioned at the start of this project. However, I'm not done making onRails even better, and I've got the first update nearly complete: I've already begun building SimReader Auto-Capture. This new system takes more of the busywork off your hands while you drive. You just get to complete laps, and onRails will automatically capture the time and sector splits for the last three laps you complete. These will show up as chips next to the lap time field in onRails, ready to select. Tire temps at sector 1, sector 2, and the finish line work the same way, whether captured automatically or grabbed with a hotkey mid-session. The Setup Developer Tool pulls from the same feed, so lap times and tire temps pre-fill without you typing anything in. Prefer to trigger it yourself? A toggle in Settings switches Auto-Capture to hotkey-only. RaceRoom Racing Experience gets full sim reader support in the same release. Connect RRE, and onRails reads your session the same way it does for every other supported sim. I'm also building a sim reader for Assetto Corsa Evo, and hope to have it ready at the same time, or soon after. I'm aiming to get all of this, plus any bug fixes, into your hands about a month after the onRails release. None of it requires you to do anything. It lands in onRails as each piece ships, and is just the beginning of a long post-launch development plan I have for onRails. Want early access before it ships? I'm looking for drivers to test SimReader Auto-Capture and RaceRoom support before the update goes out. Join the onRails Discord and I'll get you set up.
VELOCIPEDE Posted July 20 Author Posted July 20 onRails releases on Steam and itch.io on July 22nd for $34.99 USD. If you have purchased Setup Developer 2021 or Virtual Race Car Engineer 2020 on Steam, I have set up two Steam Bundles that offer onRails to you at a 30% discount. Please take advantage of that discount as a small token of my appreciation. Bought your copy outside Steam? Email me directly with any proof of purchase, a receipt, an order confirmation, a license key, whatever you've got, and I'll get you sorted at the same 30% discount one way or another. onRails takes everything both of those previous tools taught you and turns it into a structured, engineer-style setup process. Same knowledge, built for how you actually work through a session. This isn't about the features today. It's about making sure the people who backed this from the start don't pay full price for the next step. Get onRails on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4710320/onRails/ One more thing. Reviews on day one carry more weight than reviews at any other point. They're what decide whether new players give onRails a look at all. If you've got five minutes after your first session, an honest review on the Steam page would mean a lot.
VELOCIPEDE Posted August 13 Author Posted August 13 onRails v1.1 Preview Your setup process just got faster to start and easier to trust. v1.1 is a Sim Support + Onboarding release. Two more sims join the lineup, and the sim starts talking to onRails on its own. Here’s what’s landing. Two Sims Added to the Growing List RaceRoom Racing Experience and Assetto Corsa EVO drivers get full onRails support: tire temps, lap capture, and the same guided setup process as every other supported sim. This brings the total list up to nine supported sims! SimReader Auto-Capture You no longer need to press a hotkey to import tire or lap time data into onRails. When onRails sees your sim running, it pulls your lap time and tire temps straight into the tools that need them. A status dot in the top right of the AppHeader confirms the connection. Lap time and tire temps are captured at each sector and at the start/finish line, you choose which to use in the Lap Wizard. The Setup Developer Tool auto-fills from the same feed. One toggle in Settings turns it on or off based on what you prefer. My Garage onRails detects every car you use and saves it to your Garage, accessible from the Setup Engineer’s Selections screen. Within each saved car, adjust the Car Type, Drivetrain, and Subjects setup. Load it back the next time you drive that car, no reconfiguring from scratch every session. It also tracks your lap times for each track, and over time compiles a list of which setup adjustments worked best for you. Car & Track Capture Every SimReader now pulls car and track identity, not just tire temps and lap time. That’s what makes the Garage work automatically. rFactor2 users: this requires a new plugin DLL, included in your onRails\Extras folder. Replace your old DLL with this new one before you drive, or car/track capture won’t work. Sim-Aware Subject Filtering onRails now detects which setup subjects your connected sim actually supports and grays out the rest. No more dialing in a subject your sim doesn’t read. Per-Car Drivetrain Stepper Sports/Touring Car only. Set drivetrain right on the Car Type card in Setup Engineer Selections by clicking the card again to cycle between drivetrain options. Setup recommendations are tailored to that drivetrain type. FWD Differential Recommendations The Setup Developer Tool now gives differential guidance built for front-wheel-drive cars, not just adapted from RWD logic. More Languages Dutch localization join the roster, full app translation, setup advice included.
VELOCIPEDE Posted August 28 Author Posted August 28 onRails v1.1 is live. Two new sims: RaceRoom Racing Experience and Assetto Corsa EVO. That brings the total to 9 supported sims, all with tire temps, lap capture, and the same guided setup process as everything else. The bigger change: onRails now captures your data automatically. No hotkey needed for tire temps or lap times, they just show up as you drive. If you'd rather trigger it yourself, there's a toggle for that in Settings. My Garage is new too. onRails remembers every car you drive: Car Type, Drivetrain, Subjects, all saved and loaded back the next time you get in that car. No reconfiguring from scratch every session. Also in this update: sim-aware subject filtering (onRails now grays out setup subjects your connected sim doesn't support), a per-car drivetrain stepper, FWD differential recommendations, and Dutch and Hungarian localization. rFactor 2 users: grab the new plugin DLL from your onRails Extras folder before your next session. The old one won't give you car and track capture. Update through Steam, or grab it on itch.io
