VELOCIPEDE Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Slightly Mad Studios, in partnership with Audi, and CXC Simulations, is proud to bring the simulated 24 Hours of Le Mans to four Audi City locations around the world – Paris, Berlin, Moscow, and Beijing – on June 18 and 19. VIP attendees at Audi’s Le Mans parties will experience this legendary endurance race like never before, featuring Virtual Reality powered by Oculus headsets combined with CXC Simulations’ full-motion simulator rigs. You can watch the action live from your home or work as the four connected multiplayer cities host ‘The 24 Minutes of Le Mans’, a scaled-down VR endurance race in Project CARS featuring some of Audi’s best pro racing drivers from the DTM series. Italian Edoardo Mortara - one of the world's fastest racing drivers - will hit the virtual track from Audi City Beijing. Audi's youngster Nico Müller is looking forward to take the challenge from Berlin. Mike Rockenfeller - who already won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2010 - will take a seat in Audi City Moscow and Frenchman Adrien Tambay will join from his birthplace Paris. They will race head-to-head around the Circuit de la Sarthe in a shortened version of the 2015 Le Mans race, with an accelerated time cycle from day to night, and back to day. They will even drive in exactly the same weather conditions that competitors battled at last year’s race. The Audi City events are a special opportunity for racing fans and VIPs to share their passion for the charged atmosphere of the world’s most famous sportscar endurance race. At each location, attendees will experience the Le Mans circuit in VR driving the all-conquering Audi LMP1 machine, the R18 e-tron quattro. The astonishing VR experience will be amplified by professional racing simulator rigs provided by CXC Simulations. There will be one of these Oculus Rift-equipped simulators at each Audi City location. The CXC Simulations Motion Pro II physically simulates the realistic ‘seat of the pants’ feeling that race car drivers crave, and united with Project CARS and Virtual Reality, creates the ultimate in immersive race car simulation. Project CARS is the world’s leading Virtual Reality racing game, supporting both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive on PC. The game is also available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The Game Of The Year Edition includes the original software, plus a year of content updates released since May 2015.
