VELOCIPEDE Posted February 24, 2015 Author Posted February 24, 2015 This is our third lesson for The Simpit Driving School and we are sticking with the basics. In this lesson we talk about weight transfer and its very important roll in racing. Weight transfer is a constantly changing thing while driving, and it effects our vehicle and the performance of it at critical moments. When we move on to more advanced techniques both as a driver and as a crew chief it will be essential to understand what the car is doing at every moment on the track and how weight transfer changes the load put upon each tire.

In this lesson we cover Oversteer and Understeer which are both conditions that can not only effect, but actually control the car.In this still a beginner level lesson we explain, the difference between the two and what a driver can do to overcome this handling characteristic.
