The study of the Huayra began in 2003, when the competition risked premature aging Zonda (whose design dates back to the early nineties). The aim was therefore to produce a completely new car, to represent the highest technology in the automotive world. The eight years necessary to complete the Huayra were used to investigate and refine the numerous technical solutions that in the meantime had been used on the cars of the family Zonda: one in all, the frame to the carbon-titanium. Also from the aesthetic point of view the path is extremely long. Indeed, it was started from a hundred sketches to arrive, and after much research solutions were discarded, the final line

The Huayra is powered by the AMG M158 V12, built on specific Pagani. The engine, a twin turbo 5980 cc, delivers 700 hp in the standard version and 730 in configuration hi-power, in addition to a torque of 1,000 Nm (1,100 the hi-power) Nm, enough to push the Huayra to 370 km / h, maximum speed declared by Pagani.
