Alessandro Pollini Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 File Name: Mini Abarth GTL Mod File Submitter: Alessandro Pollini File Submitted: 04 Dec 2011 File Category: Car Skins Author : Age Rohbein Historical' add-on mod-mod for GTL's Mini 1275S, Abarth 1000TCR mods. This is an optional add-on for Nappe, Maeckie and Tictoc's 1275S (and 970S) Mini Cooper mod (which is very nice) and Sharpo's Abarth 1000TCR mod (ditto, very fun car to drive too) for GT Legends. I regard these mods as currently being among the best for this particular sim. It's simply an 'historical version' add-on: instead of making these cars as accurate as possible for historic races (as in GTL) and balanced to be competitive, it simply makes them run as much as they did in (circa) 1965-1968. Which is to say, less fast. Mini 1275S is about 118 BHP max and the 1000TCR about 111 BHP. But closer to the laptimes the real cars did back in those days (info included in file). By doing research on those, and the original car specs publicised and cross-checked on the Internet, I tried to recreate - or rather approximate - the cars in their original state. This also means they're not as competitive as the default cars in GTL, of course. Not as much horsepower and with less grip, too. With this mod add-on, I normally drive the TC-65 cars (mainly Mustang, Jag, Mini's, Abarths, Falcon in my case) without the original 130BHP GTL mini, which would outrun them left right and centre. I simply disabled that one by renaming its .car files to .xcar (also possible to use a car selector utility, of course). Left the 1310 mini in there, though. To install, simply *back up the original car files/folders* (very important!) in the Teams/TC-65 and Extracars folders and replace. I don't use a car selector util, but maybe people can get it to work with those. Anyway, this is a free add-on, not a replacement as such. Made it mostly for having fun myself because I like digging into historical research and using it for fine-tuning/modding. It's only useful if you'd like to get closer to the original mid-1960's specs (using V1.x of these fine mods). If so, yay. If not, simply disregard and carry on Click here to download this file
