Alessandro Pollini Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 File Name: Detroit 1988 AIW File Submitter: Alessandro Pollini File Submitted: 27 Aug 2011 File Category: Track Updates Author : WhataMack Edited AIW file for Detroit 1988 GTR2 v1.0 =========================== Approval of this edited AIW kindly provided by GTI-Heizer, who converted the track to GTR2. Instructions ======= * Be sure to make a backup copy of your existing 88Detroit.AIW file before using this updated AIW file. It is located in the GTR2 "GameData > Locations > Detroit88" folder. * Extract the updated 88Detroit.AIW file into your GTR2 "GameData > Locations > Detroit88" folder. NOTE: Use of this edited AIW may cause on-line mismatches. Overview ====== Detroit 1988 is an intense street circuit, but the AI have a lot of difficulty with it when using the default AIW file. On some corners, they will scrape the barriers hard on every lap. Many overtaking attempts are also simply too ambitious and there are frequent, major crashes. This edited AIW has decreased the barrier-scraping by quite a bit and when it does happen, it is usually less severe. The AI do many fewer "bonzai" overtaking attempts as well. If it is obvious the pass will not work, the car trying the pass will back out. Their behavior overall is much more stable and realistic. One effect of this, as you may expect, is there are fewer position changes but this is typical of a narrow street circuit such as Detroit.Edited AIW file for Detroit 1988 GTR2 v1.0 =========================== Approval of this edited AIW kindly provided by GTI-Heizer, who converted the track to GTR2.
