Alessandro Pollini Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 File Name: Lamborghini Murcielago LP 690 TP File Submitter: Alessandro Pollini File Submitted: 23 Jul 2011 File Category: Cover wheel Mods StreetSim Development Team brings to you its fourth release. Again a Lamborghini Murcielago, but a special one. The fictional Lamborghini Murcielago LP 690 Trazione Posteriore. Trazione Posteriore in italian means rear wheel drive. We intended to crate this car as soon as we released the LP 670-4 SV mod. We felt that the last Murcielago should have been a RWD car, that has lees weight and a bit more power. So we created a Murcielago with custom designed new front splitter, diffuser, wings, top intake shape, and new rims. We removed the 4wd and by that as in “reality” we removed weight 100kg from the car by imagining that the V12 and differentials are supposed to drive only rear wheels. The rear wheels are now 345 cm wide and must handle 20 hp more, coming from a v12 with less engine inertia and bit more torque. The car also underwent some suspension changes to cope with new weight, engine and wheel drive spec. The car sits now 1 cm closer to the ground, on slightly softer springs. As result of all these changes the LP 690 TP, is faster in straight line and around the track than the LP 670-4 SV. The challenge in GTR2 was to make a supercar with RWD that is fun and easy enough to drive without loosing the sense that it is a super car than can bite back when not careful. The biggest hurdle of achieving this was the tire model, but we might say we have done a good job. The end result, in our eyes is that the LP 690 TP is a more fun car to drive that our LP 670-4 SV, with much less to none understeer, and ability to steer it with throttle through corners, while sliding around corners. Again, be aware, this is a Road car, not a race car. It benefits from aerodynamics but it will not match a pure race car dynamics in terms of grip. Click here to download this file
