Alessandro Pollini Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 Add more stages to world rally tour events http://www.drivingitalia.net/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=222 Introduction ------------ Dirt 3 is an awesome game with lots of events and a big BUT... (with one t). The maximum of stages per rally is 5 when you reach world tour (season "5"). That pissed me off, so i tried to change it... So here is a way to add stages into an event. You can also adjust -the time of day, -the weather -the starting position in each stage The example focuses on Rally Finland but of course can be applied to all events in the game. How to add 6 more stages to Oakley World Tour --> Oakley Rally Finland (season "5") ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Step 1 1. Backup your original database.bin!!!!! 2. Open database.bin (with Ryder Database Editor version 2.0.2011.0530) 3. go to table "event" (list of tables on the left side of the editor) 4. find the line that says "103_oakley_rally_finland_card" (column "card_string_id") 5. follow that line until the column named "id" in order to find it (id=422) 6. find the column named "num_competitions". you will see a value of 5 (5 stages) and change it to 11 (11 stages) or as much as you like. 7. the same process applies to other rallies also. Step 2 1. go to table "track_model" (left side of the editor) 2. find the number of every stage for this location. how to do it? combine the value of the first column in this table (ai_track_name) with the value of "id". to help you, finland rally stages have values from id=191 to id=192 and id=194 to id=199 (no 193), and trailblazer stages are 232-234. Step 3 1. go to table "event_track_pool" (left side of the editor) 2. sort by column "event_id" and find the lines with value 422 in it (from step 1) 3. you can see five lines with value 422 each for every stage 4. copy the last of them (Ctr+C) and then at the end of this table, paste it (Ctr+V) 5. repeat it 5 more times (now you will have 11 lines with value 422) 6. the column "id" in this table has no connection with anything else in the database but for every stage i added, i gave a number after 1321 which is the last id in this table just to be sure... (so 1322-1327) 7. find the column "order_index" and set the sequence you want for the stages from first to last (0-10) 8. find the column "player_grid_position_base" and play with your starting position in every stage (very good) 9. find the column "track_lighting_type_id" and set values for the time of day (1=morning, 2=afternoon, 3=rain, 4=night, 5=snow) 10. finally find the column "track_model_id" and set the values that represent the stages you will use (from step 2). note that you can not repeat the same stage twice (the game will use it only one time). The modified rally has 11 stages now. Their order is 232-191-192-194-195-233-196-197-198-199-234 and the format is T-R-R-R-R-T-R-R-R-R-T where t=trailblazer and r=rally and the numbers There is also a way to combine stages from different events (i.e. 8 rally stages Norway, 1 rallyx Aspen, 1 head2head Aspen) but this will be done in a later time. You should also know that : a) in the initial screen of the event you will see ONLY THE FIRST 5 races but if you select it, when you reach the setup screen you will see Event 1 of 11 on top... of course the three trailblazer stages don't have a co-driver and pace-notes. c) you should already have world tour unlocked or your "database_restrictions.xml" renamed.
Alessandro Pollini Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 Good Weather Mod http://www.drivingitalia.net/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=231 - All tracks set to be "sunny morning/good weather/dry" - No more "Snowing/Rain/evening/Night" types of weather ( the tracks still the same, but now you will play them always in "sunny morning/good weather/dry" ) to install just unpack my .rar file and copy my folder to your "dirt 3" installation folder
Alessandro Pollini Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI - Rallycross - 4096x4096 http://www.drivingitalia.net/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=239 This is V.2 It is a highres 4096x4096 version I thought Dirt 3 doesn't support resolutions above 2048x2048. But I tried it, and it worked. So I did a complete rework and made this 4096x4096 version. Please make a backup of the following file: Dirt-3-folder\cars\models\stx\livery_01\textures_high\stx _tex_high_01.pssg Unzip the folder into your Dirt 3 folder. It replaces the Oxy skin Have phun!
Alessandro Pollini Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 All events unlocked http://www.drivingitalia.net/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=240 Use this database.bin mod if (for instance) you are stuck in the game (due to GFWL or gymkhana or whatever... ) and would like to check out and try all events there are in the career (seasons, world tours, compound, etc.). Only events are unlocked, not all cars (haven't figured that one out yet). Make a backup of your current database.bin (Dirt 3/Database), download the file and unzip it into the database folder. You will have immediate access to every event. (The main dirt tour screen may show 'empty' pyramids, but as soon as you select them, they will be 'filled'.) As usual with database.bin mods you can only use one mod at a time and they won't work online... I made this bin just to see if it was possible. It was. And since some people liked it (one guy couldn't play the career at all, only single races, due to some GFWL problems and now finally could play a complete rally) I decided to put it up here, also because there doesn't seem to be a similar mod. Correct me if I'm wrong.
