Guest pandareum
Hi, maybe a duplicate of this topic... (i don't understand the discussion) I was looking for an online version of Trento - Bondone (sooo much thanks to have put that good-damn-old-track in 1.3 :-D), because of the problem with the unique pit. Does anybody create a patch for a bunch of cars ? In doubt, I created a file for 3 cars (for my friends and I, but I think there is enough space to put 1 or 2 cars more), it seems to work correctly. If somebody is interested, please ask. EDIT (20/03/2011) - Update 0.10 10 slots tested with Vintage and Abarth NKPro13_Trento-Bondone_patch_online_trc0.10.zip NKPro13_Trento-Bondone_patch_online_trc0.3.zip Edited June 20, 2011 by pandareum
Guest nicolas30on
It is possible but you need a very fast connection.I read on another post here that the netkar pro server needs twice as much bandwidth as other game servers ,twice as much as a lfs server..Add to that that the hillclimb is a large track so unless you have a very fast connection forget it.. I do hope eventually everything gets polished out and more tracks like this gets released as they are a lot of fun ..
Guest pandareum
Thanks for your answer about the required bandwith, I'll keep an eye on it Anyway, on Trento - Bondone the "grid space" is very limited ; it's may be possible to plan 5 or 6 (very little) pits, that would represent 6 x 2 = 12 cars with LFS-bandwith, which seems to be acceptable. wildsurfer
track length and bandwidth shouldn't be correlated. If I understood correctly you consume more bandwidth when cars are closer to each other, because more informations need to be exchanged between clients to see more accurate movements. When cars are far away the sampling is lower. Pandareum can you please share the nkrefs.ini you created? I tried something myself some time ago but without success. Guest pandareum
Thanks for your interest, and the precisions you mentionned about the bandwitdth I attached the patch in the first post, for 3 cars It's inspired by the Crema-Online patch, that's why the flags.ini is the same. It can be ameliored. Don't hesitate to share a better version
Guest pandareum
Update 0.10 : 10 slots tested with Vintage and Abarth. In order to have enough space to leave the grid (when training), I made that choice : The 5 first slots are on the left line, the 5 other slots are on the right line. (if somebody want a different grid, please ask). NKPro13_Trento-Bondone_patch_online_trc0.10.zip I'd like to know how much time you usually wait between starts
