VELOCIPEDE Posted October 4, 2012 Author Posted October 4, 2012 Alfalla Wins Second Straight NiSWC TitleRay Alfalla completed a successful defense of his NASCAR iRacing.com Series World Championship in last night’s season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, becoming the first sim-racer to score back-to-back NiSWC titles and earning more than $10,500 in cash and prizes in the bargain. Alfalla drove to a steady if unspectacular fifth place finish last night while his lone title rival, Michael Conti, came home seventh to clinch second place in the standings and the $3,500 check that goes to the series runner-up. Kevin King scored a dominant win at Homestead to secure third place in the NiSWC points while Nick Ottinger edged Brian Schoenburg and Patrick Baldwin for fourth spot in the championship standings. Further down the order, Jason Karlavige made history by finishing in the top 25 in points and securing a spot in the 2013 NiSWC, the first driver to do so without racing his way into the series through the NASCAR iRacing.com Pro Series. Congratulations to Ray, Michael, Kevin, Nick, Brian, Patrick, Jason and all the competitors in the 2012 NiSWC for a great season of sim-racing!
