Test Drive Unlimited 2 blends the single player and multiplayer experiences seamlessly, creating a dynamic world of unique content and challenges. A revamped single player narrative mode can be played offline or as part of the multiplayer experience.

Test Drive Unlimited 2 puts the world’s most desirable vehicles in the players hands. These ultra-limited edition masterpieces are flawlessly replicated with Eden’s finely tuned driving technology. Players define their online persona through the customization of their vehicles, and the acquisition of property, clothing and all the accoutrements of a luxurious car-based lifestyle. The challenge comes to life with the most expansive and comprehensive multiplayer offering on the console and the ultimate refinement of the core Test Drive driving experience. All-new race types, vehicle classes, environmental challenges, locations and much more push this epic franchise to new levels of performance and luxury.

The PC version is live. Console versions are complete and will be live very soon. The final update contains a few more bug fixes and gameplay improvements than the original announcement highlighted. For the latest info on all the changes coming with DLC1, please see the full list below:

The update includes the following Gameplay improvements:

Players can sell their cars in the used car dealer (including cars won in duels)

Effect of collisions with rocks and trees is now less severe

Instant challenges have been tweaked to exclude very short or very long races

Cruising as a passenger now unlocks roads

Lower car-road impact sounds

New restrictions on MP races (to stop the prevalence of top end cars in all races)

Session lost messages are now more descriptive

Koenigsegg CCXR performance tweaked to be competitive with Bugatti Veyrons

Y axis inversion option added

Additional race restrictions added to avoid Bugattis having complete dominance

Lobby: Club cars are now allowed in multiplayer and solo modes

We scrutinize savegames for specific hacks and take measures when they are detected

Nat info text displayed on the Start screen if a potential network configuration problem is detected

Lobby: « With/Without collisions » info added

Lobby: « Inner club » & « club vs club » info icons added

Players can now cancel on the search games loading screen

[PC] Chat window moved and positioned according to the game mode

[PS3] Mike & Voice IP options added

The Final Cup can be repeated to earn the grand prize an unlimited number of times

Stickers not appearing when in a friend’s garage

Invisible avatars immediately after a club upgrade

After releasing the Exploration Pack months ago for PC users, Eden Games and Atari have announced the release date for Test Drive Unlimited 2’s same DLC for the Xbox 360. As revealed in Unlimited’s official forums, the free Exploration Pack DLC will go live on Xboxes everywhere August 16. Unfortunately, the Atari representative (the poster of the information on the forum) did not have a date as to when PlayStation 3 users will receive this update.

Exploration Pack (Free DLC1) - Changelog:

-20 new missions including 2 all-new mission types: Extreme Convoy and Timed Convoy.

-20 new wrecks to find which give you access to 2 new exclusive cars:

-3 additional Discovery levels.

-2 new Multiplayer Races for the Stratos

DLC: Help channel added to TDU media.

Motorcycle dealer, Auction hall, and new clothing shops are “under construction” – users can visit location, but they are not yet open for business.

Gameplay:

-Players are now able to sell reward cars they have earned in dealerships.

-Roads are now marked as “explored” for areas visited when riding as a passenger

-Rewards increased for multiplayer challenges.

-Car class restriction added to multiplayer ranked challenges.

-Player name display updated in free ride for improved clarity.

-Instant challenge routes will adjust based on players vehicle types (i.e. dirt roads vs asphalt)

-Adjusted impact sound after certain jumps

-Casino roulette exploits removed

-Casino Level 10 cut scene updated

-Club Challenges updated to allow players to race with the club cars.

-Fixed a map bug that would display online players swimming far into the Mediterranean.

Hey TDU2 Players,

Here are the DLC2 details! That means more content and more fixes for TDU2! (Note: The exact date of release hasn’t been determined yet but it’s looking to be in February 2012). Atari ha confermato via forum l'uscita per febbraio dell'ormai ritardatario DLC per Test Drive Unlimited 2, dedicato alle moto (e non solo). L'update ci offrirà tre mezzi a due ruote firmati Harley-Davidson e Ducati. Altre novità, contenute nella patch a corredo, interessano un aggiornamento delle funzioni legate al tuning, la possibilità di cambiare isola in qualsiasi momento e un migliore supporto all'accoppiata volanti/force feedback. La data precisa dei nuovi contenuti sarà diffusa più avanti.
