MADDOG SKINS PRESENTS THE BRITISH GT CHAMPIONSHIP MOD V1.1 FOR GTR2

Adding on to the success of Version one, what you have here is the updated version. It now includes 56 cars from the years 2001 to 2006, all modelled as accurately as possible and each one with the correct drivers face and helmet.

This constitutes the main base pack. All further releases will be addons requiring this pack to be installed.

So, whats different in this version?

Firstly, you now have the option to make Single class as well as Single Make selections along side the Year selection. We totally restructured the folder format including putting 'BGT' at the front of every car folder to identify which are ours. Also, alot of hard work has gone into correcting the engines of a number of the cars, most notably the Elises, Exiges and F360 Cup and Challenge cars. All this has been done in an effort to make the mod as accurate as possible whilst still retaining the playability of the game. Also, none of the cars will now appear alongside the FIA ones except in single class races, and then only those whos engines haven't been altered.

This version includes an Official Championship season utilising all the cars from the years 2005 and 2006 combined. Also the Option to race with Changable weather or "dry if you want to keep large fields and not loose too much FPS."

Once we have enough cars per year we will start making Championships based on each years cars. Added to that are two custom Championships, one for Cup class cars and one for NGT class cars. At present there aren't enough GT3 cars in the mod to warrant a championship, but it will come. On top of all that, we're very pleased to be able to include four addon tracks; Silverstone, Thruxton, Castle Coombe (WITH the chicanes!) and Knockhill. Along with some original simbin tracks, each championship gives you 12 rounds to test your skill as a driver against.

In the future, we will complete the years 2003 to 2006 and start on the years 2000 - 2002 and also 2007. Some cars for 2007 have already been started.

Before installing this mod please remove all previous versions of this mod since alot of changes have been made to the file structure and naming convention. Failure to remove these things will result in game errors.

INSTALLATION

To install, point the setup to the folder that contains your main GTR2 folder. DO NOT point it to your GTR2 folder itself or it will just extract inside itself and you wont see the cars. This mod will NOT overwrite any of the original SimBin files.

The installation will also provide an uninstaller should you feel the need to remove this mod for any reason. The uninstaller will appear in your Start - All Programs menu and will remove all files that the installer added.

UNINSTALLATION

Should you for some unknown reason or brief moment of madness decide you need to uninstall this mod, then you'll find a nice little uninstall icon in your Start/All Programs area. If you've deleted that then you'll find another icon in your GTR2 folder.

At the end of Uninstallation, you'll see a message saying 'Unable to uninstall all files' etc. THIS IS GOOD! It means it hasn't removed all your folders that you need in order to play GTR2, so don't worry about it. Return To Download Page
