The guys at Sector3 Studios are working hard on the next update, which will not only contain new content but also some interesting and long awaited game features! One of them will be the ability to save your car setups.
Yes. Finally the days of taking photos of your setups with your phone will be over.

In the upcoming patch we are including some Force Feedback updates, many of you have been asking for:
- FFB Meter
- Minimum Force
- Slip Effect
- Stationary friction
- FFB Multiplier
Read everything about them on the forum: http://bit.ly/FFBupdates

Since we have implemented the DRS and Push-to-Pass functions, added the fuel setting to the car setup (coming this patch) and reworked the tyre wear for the latest physics updates, we felt the need to redesign the Mini Data Display HUD, to present you the most important information during a race in a nicer, more compact way.

YELahZ2.png

The new mini Data display contains the following information:

  • Gear
  • Speed
  • RPM
  • Fuel
  • Tyre Wear
  • DRS/P2P
  • Aero Damage
  • Gearbox Damage
  • Engine Damage

RPM
The RPM Meter will change its color to green, once you are close to the optimal shifting point, and red when you hit the limiter.

r7okRmk.jpg

Tyre Wear
You will notice the 4 tyre icons decreasing in size and changing color as your tyres lose available grip.
Yellow indicates that your tyres are out of their optimal range
Orange means that the tyres show a considerable amount of wear, and you should start thinking about pitting for new rubber.
At some point they will start blinking red, telling you that the tire is fully worn out.

Fuel
Following the upcoming patch you will be able to change the amount of fuel in the car setup.
The Data Display shows you the amount of liters left in your tank, and will turn red once you're left with only two laps worth of fuel, indicating that you need to pit in soon™.

Damage
The three damage icons show you the status of your aerodynamics, engine & gearbox.
When damaging parts of your car, the corresponding icon will blink yellow, and as the health of your car parts wears off, the associated bars will decrease and eventually turn red to indicate major damage.

  • With increasing Aero damage you will lose downforce.
  • Engine damage will hurt the performance of your power unit, which results in slower acceleration and lower top speed.
  • Gearbox damage may cause gears not to engage properly and eventually be lost altogether.

DRS / P2P
The display will show you the status and the number of remaining uses of your DRS / P2P function.

Green: The function is available
Red: Function is in use

fino a 99 insieme in pista!

With the upcoming patch we will include bigger grid sizes for a selection of tracks.

hT3yD1R.jpg

The exact amount of opponents you can select depends mostly on how many cars the pitlane can possibly host.

26115699475_a7b99dd7a7_b.jpg

The prime examples so far are Spa-Francorchamps (combined Layout) and Nordschleife,
which both can host up to 99 opponents, while Norisring still allows only for 23.

25513050953_35abb55a7e_b.jpg

If you are creating an offline championship, the maximum number of opponents will be limited by the track layout you have in your calendar that has the least amount of opponents.

This feature will be available on patch day for Single Player, but we do plan on allowing more players on dedicated servers. With the few volunteer betatesters we have in our team, it wasn't possible to fill up a server and test it properly. This is why we will "do it live" and host a special server ourselves and invite everyone to join it and report any issue you encounter.
Once polished enough, the feature will then be unlocked for the regular dedicated servers.

*WARNING*
Due to the increased processing power needed for such big grids, it comes with an expected hit on performance. Therefore you should adjust the amount of opponents to your system capacity.
Tip: Decrease the amount of visible cars in Visual Settings to gain back some performance.
We are confident you will appreciate this feature and very grateful for the feedback you'll share with us!

Our GT3 Cars have received a massive physics update. We can't wait to share it with you!
More info about the future of the GTR3 Class on the forum: http://bit.ly/GT3_Update

12936700_1172199756131973_35199955694156

As we have already mentioned here and there, all the GT3-Specs cars have received a physics update, bringing them to the latest quality standard.

25862116970_7d49d9a3ff_b.jpg

This update will be included in the patch, and you will be able to experience it for yourself right as we come back from deployment maintenance.

25862077920_c77b9cd0fc_b.jpg

Thanks to great data findings and the precious help of KW Suspensions, we were able to completely rebuild our suspension model for all our "GT3-specs" cars. As soon as @Karsten Borchers got his hands on great damper shock dyno charts, there was no stopping him.

26042448052_71ab7400ed_b.jpg

But he didn't stop on suspensions. Oh no... The cars have improved in all other aspects and the whole physics package now reflects the progress we have achieved in the physics department to date. Aerodynamics, tires, gearbox ratios, steering geometry,... all have been improved.

26109008556_f56637052c_b.jpg

Hand in hand with @Marko Hartikainen they managed to deliver a package that also provides much more accurate tyre wear and fuel management.

Just as in real life, the cars now have a locked differential, fixed gear ratios and make use of Traction Control, which complies with the FIA GT3 regulations. The ratios are the actual real ones, and when data wasn't available, they were matched with onboard footage.

IMPORTANT: Your custom setups won't be compatible anymore, and you need to start over by resetting them back to default (same applies for the steering settings).

We also decided to bring the P4/5 into the GTR3 class and BOP it accordingly, so it can compete against the GT3 Armada in his natural habitat: the Nordschleife. The P4/5 is no longer in GTRX class, where we're sure you'll agree it wasn't a good fit anyway.

25532304953_bae30d417f_b.jpg

During this process it received a livery modification to match the real car, as well as a sound update.

26108981386_a6fbc3900a_b.jpg

Finally a word on some new cars, we know you have been asking for a lot.

We do have plans to bring the Ford Mustang GT3 to the GTR3 class, which should hopefully be the case in one of the next updates.

The Bentley Continental GT3 is currently being reviewed by Bentley and should be released some time in April. We plan to make it available in both GT Masters 2015 and the GTR3 classes. The exact liveries we will ship it with are pending Bentley's decision.

As you already know, we've recently announced that the new McLaren 650S GT3 will join the GT3 field in RaceRoom. We will not stop there as other new GT3 cars will be announced in the near future, so stay tuned!

Wo5YEmb.jpg

For those of you waiting for a GTR3 Pack, we can say, that it is in the plans, and will hit the shelves when the time is right.

In the meantime enjoy the already massive selection of completely overhauled and up-to-date GT3 cars in RaceRoom
