Over the years we have been developing quite a number of vehicles that are now being readied for inclusion within rFactor 2. Today we have a treat for all you Touring Car fans, especially those of you from Australia. Along with showing off the first car of this mod, we are happy to announce the Touring Car Classics mod. Content has been made over the last year for various mods that are now starting to get more and more finalized for release and for this reason we are starting to share some info.

The Touring Car Classics mod is developed with the desire to produce and release various touring cars for all of you to enjoy. Over time vehicles from various touring car championships as well as various years from those championships will be released. Championships included within the mod over the long term period will be,

  • ATCC - Australian Touring Car Championship
  • STW - Super Touring Cars
  • BTCC - British Touring Car Championship
  • JTCC - Japanese Touring Car Championship
  • WTCC - World Touring Cars Championship
  • ETCC - European Touring Cars Championship
  • DTM - Deutsche Touring Masters
  • V8S - V8 Supercars

We WILL NOT be developing full season mods, for the most part, we have developed and will further develop vehicles that we like and vehicles the community is wanting to see get made. We are not promising that desired vehicles will be made on request, we will evaluate the requests and if we're able to, we will make the ones we can. We would like to make this clear to the community from the beginning so you don't feel like we're promising to develop any car you all want.

Today we show off the 1993 Ford Falcon EB that was Ford's entry to the Australian Touring Car Championship and Super Touring Cars (Australian Region). The Ford Falcon EB is a 5 litre V8 normal aspirated engine. It was piloted to the top step of the championship in its debut season by Glenn Seton. Ex F1 Driver Alan Jones and team mate to Glenn Seton finished second in the championship using the same car. The Falcon EB was renowned for its two iconic liveries. Glenn Seton Racing sponsoring the Peter Jackson livery we are showing today, and Dick Johnson Racing's Shell Helix livery that we will show at a later date took the track to combat against Holden's two most well known entries, the Mobil 1 Racing entry driven by Peter Brock and the Winfield Racing entry driven by Mark Skaife and Jim Richards.

The Ford Falcon continued to run as Ford's main entry in 1994 but was replaced with the Ford Falcon EF from 1995 onwards, though several independent entries still ran the EB up to 1996.

The first open beta of the Touring Car Classics mod is expected to hit rF2 in Q1 2014. We also desire to place all vehicles in Assetto Corsa once the modding abilities open for the platform. Below, you can view the iconic Glenn Seton Racing Ford Falcon EB from the 1993 ATCC Season. We'll be posting more news soon, stay tuned.

The renders are done by Bernd Boehm of VRD Design. The 3D Model is done by MAK-Corp's Lead 3D Artist Dmitriy Barishev and is painted by MAK-Corp's Lead 2D Artist Doug Parker.

Fantastico però non capisco perchè mettere tanta i mod in cantiere e non portarne  a termine quasi nessuno.

In Australia it is currently the new year, 2014 is upon us so we would like to take the time to wish you all a Happy New Year! We send our best wishes to all of you and your families, everyone in the community. Most of you will still be in 2013 (quit living in the past dudes), but you will soon join us within the new year. We wanted to start of 2014 the way we finished 2013, with more previews, this time, rFactor 2 in-game previews of the Ford Falcon EB Australian Touring car that will be featured in the Touring Car Classics mod.
The Ford Falcon EB raced as the main entry against Holden in the 1993 Australian Touring Car championship in which it also won the championship piloted by Glenn Seton in the blue Peter Jackson Glenn Seton Racing team. Former F1 Legend Alan Jones finished just behind his team mate in second place in the 1993 Championship. The 1993 Season of the Australian Touring Car championship featured two classes of racing. The A Class cars running the Ford Falcon EB and Holden Commodore VN and VP boasting 5 liter V8 engines. The Class II Touring Cars (later known as Super Touring Cars) boasted 2 liter engines. The Group A was bound to normally aspirated two wheel drive cars.
The Ford Falcon EB was modeled by MAK-Corp's Lead 3D Artist Dmitriy Barishev, it was mapped by Lukasz Kacprzykowski and all liveries were painted by Doug Parker. Enjoy the previews below.

Petros Mak di MAK Corp:

We are working on physics and sounds at the moment for the Porsche 962C and the Sauber C11. They are not that far off. smile.png

We hope to in the future. Right now aside from finishing and releasing cars we have done, we are focusing a lot more on WRS and will be opening the WRS website and campaign officially very soon. WRS for us is a very important project and a number of its series and cars will make it to rFactor 2 as introduction to them. Currently all our guys are commercial with absolutely no modder modelers any longer. While our guys still do models for mods here and there in between client work, they're all now part of the commercial team.
I am hoping to bring in more people to the group, modders who can develop more cars and content while we focus more on WRS, but will see how that goes. For now, our modding side has a plethora of vehicles to finalize, put in game and release so we're good for a VERY long time. There are many cars I'd like to do, unfortunately not enough artists for the modding side. We'll see what the future brings though. smile.png

MAK-Corp is opening up Beta Tester positions for beta testing our mods on rF2 and AC. Beta testers will be required to test a variety of vehicle types and will be required to provide professional feedback back to our development team. Testers will need to be able to test both rF2 and AC mods and we must stress that we will note tolerate fanboyism in our group.

Beta tester applicants must be over the age of 18, will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and must be able to provide feedback in proper English.

If you are interested, please send an email to jobs@mak-corp.com.au with your request to join, a little about yourself, your sim-racing/gaming experience and any past testing services you have provided to any mod groups and/or developers.

We will evaluate all applications and let those who we have chosen know that they are in for the next stage of their entry. Positions are limited so be sure to email asap. Applications close Sunday the 14th of December 2014 and those approved will be contacted during next week.

With Christmas day upon us, we at MAK-Corp would like to wish all our followers and supporters a Merry Christmas. We wish you and your families all the best over the festive season and hope you all will have a fun and safe Christmas. As another year is coming to an end, in the next days we will be making an article giving some insight of all the things we have done this year and some details of things to come from January onwards. 2015 for MAK-Corp will be a big year of content releases as so many things have been prepped for it. We have worked hard over the last few months, we have made a number of significant deals that will see a number of Officially Licensed mods being released to public in a first time ever for the community. We hope you will all stick around and continue to support us throughout 2015 and beyond as we bring you more content for your enjoyment. We thank you all, without all of you, what we do is meaningless. Merry Christmas to you all!
