Historic Trans Am Mod for GTR2 by kiwisteve and sunalp2.

The Trans Am Championships were hugely popular in the 1960's and 70's.

Racing production cars at road circuits, from one end of the United States to the other, attracted large fields and big crowds. To my mind it was the heyday of road racing in America.

It is a little known fact that small, under 2 liter cars (U2 class), were used in the American Trans Am series during the 1960's. Most people think it was a series for the V8's (O2 class).

Makes such as Porsche, BMW, Volvo, SAAB, BMC. Datsun, Fiat and Alfa were widely used amongst the Chev's, Fords, Plymouths and Dodges. The 1968 Championship was actually won by Tony Adamowicz in a Porsche 911S. This mod also includes the 1966 Championship dominating Alfa GTA of Horst Kwech.

We haven't been able to supply all the cars, but here is a pretty good selection.

Chevrolet Camaro SS, Falcon Sprint, Shelby Mustang, BMC Cooper S, Alfa Romeo GTA, Lotus Cortina and the Abarth 1000TC.

As more cars become available we intend to add to this mod.

You can race either class in single races separately, or together, using the Historic Trans Am Menu.

The Mod also contains 6 Championships which you will find listed in the OFFICIAL section. These are combined O2 and U2 events with points awarded for each class.

There are:

3 Championship Seasons of 8 races: consisting of 40 laps with a final round for each season of 60 laps.

2 Sprint Championships with 11 races of 10 laps.

And finally an Endurance Championship of 12 rounds with races of 65 laps.

You will find in your Historic Trans Am folder a word document with links to all the tracks required.

Mod Credits:

99% of skins by kiwisteve.

RHD Alfa GTA Model by Nack.

Shelby Engine & Gearbox by Crocko 05

Camaro courtesy of scca1981

Mini, Falcon Sprint and Abarth physics, Championships and Mod compilation by sunalp2

This Mod is completely standalone, and includes over 60 Authentic Trans Am Liveries from 1966 to 1968.

Also includes the rear gear mod by RMI & GTL Workshop, which is needed to select the different Differential ratios which are available for GTL cars..

This Gear Mod will overwrite the gtr2ui.mnu but a back up has been included. Just rename the backup_gtr2ui.mnu by removing the backup_. The back up file along with a read me will be found in your GTR2\UIData folder.

(Please Note: the Mustang Safety Car pictured in the attached Rolling Start screen shot is not included with the mod as it will show up at all your other races. It is available at nogrip in the Power & Glory section. Just extract it to a temporary folder, and cut and paste the Safety Car folder into your Historic Trans Am folder. That way it will not overwrite the original Safety Car)
