What's this?

================

This program is intended to be used to keep mods updated all around the world just updating a online version of the mod and accessing it with a windows program sincronizing remote and local files.

This plugin contains 2 components: a server component and a client component.

The server component creates xml data containing info about the online version of tiles. It also logs accesses to che script.

The client component accesses the server component and sincronizes local files with remote ones.

You also have to add 2 text lines to one of your mod files.

================

Mod Component

================

Using:

- edit your mod's rfm file in rFm directory. Just near the "Mod Name =" line:

- place a line beginning with "Mod Version =" (and place a version for your mod)

- place a line beginning with "Mod URL =" (and put the URL of the server component of the plugin (just the dir, do not put script name))

================

Server Component

================

Requirements:

- WebServer with php support and not a paleolitic version of interpreter (4.3.something should be enough)

- Write permission to php user (for accesses log)

- No filter on mime tipes access (you just need to download files like bik, pm, mas, ini and so on.. iis webservers could mess you..

- Better is you mod, faster must be your line (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Using che server plugin:

- Place the index.php file (you just can call it as you wish, but the webserver must open it when the directory is accessed)

- If you want to protect your mod, you can protect the directory with .htaccess and .htpasswd files, http authentication is supported

- You can keep trace of accesses to the directory setting the $stats variable in php file to 1. It will log every access in a CSV text file writing time,ip,user line by line.

================

Client Component

================

Requirements:

- IE to install the program from the web (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

- .NET framework 2.0

Using the client plugin:

- set up the config entering your rFactor root directory and if you want your default user and pass.

- You are old enough to use a windows application.. click here and there and update your mods (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

- remember it's a GIEI application, mail him at luca@santirocco.com for EVERY error (check the log file in your c:\ dir), or just to mess him (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
