A new version of the VGP3 engine, V0.80 (Alpha), is now available from the Download section!

There are many improvements in the new engine, including:

- possibility to install third-parties' series along with the original Open Wheeled one

- better integration with the VGP3 WebSite through download and installation of new contents directly from within the application

- improved shaders

- support for postprocessing effects (just few for now, but more will come)

- optimizations and minor upgrades in the whole code

We are also working on additional tracks we plan to release very soon and we're updating the VGP3 tools.

Pay attention to the fact that the new file formats are incompatible with the old ones, so you need to download both the new executable and the main archive - Don't mix old and new files!

The long-awaited Lobby Server for VGP3 is finally up and running!

In order to use it, you need to download the latest version of the VGP3 engine (V0.82), available from the Download section.

With the new Lobby Server you can now easily find other online users/servers: just select “Network Race” from the main menu and click “Server List” (or chat with other users).

To host an online race, just leave the “Use Lobby Server” option on and start your server - other people will see your host in the Server List and will easily join your online race!

Nuova versione disponibile.

A new version of the VGP3 engine' date=' V0.84 (Alpha), is now available from the Download section!

The new version features some minor improvements and new mechanical components, most notably f-ducts are now fully simulated! The f-duct is an aerodynamic system that stalls a car rear wing, allowing for higher top speeds on straights.

An updated version of the OWChamp 2010 serie is now available as well; the update features the new f-duct system and some better graphics and textures! To install the new version, first update the VGP3 engine, then click the updates button from within the simulator!

Some feedback on the v0.84 update...

1. The new F-Duct is a blast to use and can make a huge difference. But be careful, the car is very twitchy due to the loss of rear downforce!

2. 2010 OW cars feel great on the track and are by far the most advanced of the carsets yet.

3. New motion blur effect now available in the video options menu!

VGP3 ora supporta il 3D, sia con gli occhialini blu e rossi che quello stereoscopico.

We are pleased to announce that the latest build of the VGP3 engine (V0.85) now features true (stereoscopic) 3D! It is now possible to correctly perceive depth and distance of objects on screen, improving the (virtual) driving experience!

The new version of the engine supports two different stereo 3D modes:

1) "True" stereo 3D that can be turned on in the options/video menu. This mode requires a 3D monitor and a fully OpenGL-compliant Stereo (quad-buffering) 3D graphics card (pay attention to the fact that not all "3D" graphics cards are OpenGL Stereo 3D compatible, as an example only NVIDIA "3D Vision Pro" are).

2) Anaglyph (ie red/cyan) 3D. To activate this mode, do NOT turn on the "stereo 3d" setting, instead select a "stereo anaglyph" (anachrome or anaglyph) postprocessing f/x. This mode should work on any recent graphics board, it just requires to look at the screen wearing red/cyan glasses (in this mode colors may not be reproduced 100% correctly, especially reds).

If using any of the 3D modes, it's important to correctly setup distances and dimensions of the monitor/screen in the new Feedback menu (it's also possible to control the "amount" of 3D, it's suggested to start with very low values at first).
