VELOCIPEDE Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 The MadigitalMediaMclaren F1 Pack is a conversion from GTR. It is a culmination of a number of peoples work and we hope you enjoy it. This pack is NOT the same one that was hijacked and hosted by esport-racing.de/ or other sites who sustain themselves by taking other peoples work. The file they hosted was an unreleased beta version of this mod. They were asked to remove the files but ignored my requests. For your own sakes I would advise avoiding these sites. They do not have your interests at heart and who knows WHAT you could end up with on your PC. If you downloaded and installed the beta version then I suggest that you uninstall it to avoid any possible conflict with this, the finished version. **************************************************** ***** Description The pack consists of a total of 89 vehicles using two different engines and is divided as follows: Mclaren F1 Challenge = 26 cars - Mod originally produced for GTR by [sSR]Hoskins and his team Circuit Zolder Cup = 20 cars - Collection of skins originally produced for GTR by Circuit Zolder and his team Circuit Zolder Dance Cup = 22 cars - Collection of skins originally produced for GTR by Circuit Zolder and his team Mclaren F1 Lemans = 21 cars using the LM engine with skins based on the 2007 Lemans cars, designed for this mod by MadigitalMedia Each collection of cars has its own Custom Cup and every single car has a custom Driver (helmet and face). In the case of the Lemans collection they are of the actual drivers of their LM counterparts. Known Bugs: None Installation: Extract the folder into your main GTR2 folder. General License Agreement You agree not to rip off any of the work of MadigitalMedia. You agree not to distribute this mod other than in its entirety. You agree not to add to it or remove anything from it other than any of the official released addons. In return, we agree not to come around, kick your door in and force you to watch unending repeats of 'Eldorado' with your eyelids taped open. Please enjoy this mod. I mean, how often does anyone actually read the license agreement? I've sat here for ages, pondering how to word this document, but do you appreciate it? VELOCIPEDE Posted August 28, 2007 Author Posted August 28, 2007 IMPORTANT: MCLAREN F1 UPDATE! Well, we thought we had everything covered but we were wrong! You know how it goes, you check and check and check but something still slips past. All credit for this update goes unreservedly to Greybrad. He not only spotted the problems but also fixed them and produced this update. For this i am eternally grateful and can't thank him enough. Things corrected: All textures now have 5 mipmap levels, BODY1 and BODY2 textures are in DX1 format with the windows in DX5 format. You can now have custom windows with any car, just name the file <CarNumber>_MCLARENF1_WINDOWS.DDS, for example 96020CZ_MCLARENF1_WINDOWS.DDS. If you don't use a custom window texture the car will use the default window texture. All cars have both high and normal resolution skins. IMPORTANT NOTE:- This pack includes corrections for all 4 car packs. If you haven't installed all 4 packs and add one at a later date then you will have to reinstall this update. VELOCIPEDE Posted August 28, 2007 Author Posted August 28, 2007 MadigitalMedia McLaren F1 mod update 2 Fixed a problem with the alpha channels of the custom windows. Adjusted the positioning of the Rainscreen and Dirtscreen. Adjusted the rainscreen so that the windscreen doesn't look like a block of small raindrops. Located and corrected the line in the .eng file that put the sound offcentre when in cockpit view. Regards, Greybrad Additional Work Motec remapped by Rictus Grin Motec graphics redone bt [MMT Aaron] in order for them to show correctly due to a fault with the original simbin F550 Motec On a personal note I would just like to say a big Thanks to GreyBrad and Rictus for their help and support in sorting out the errors with the Mclaren. Without their assistance this update wouldn't have been possible. Their unselfish and willing attitudes are a credit to themselves and an example to the community. Cheers guys!
