05-Oct: rCentral File Server Update
Things are progressing faster than expected. New dedicated fileservers are in the process of being setup and areas of the site re-coded. Hopefully within a couple of days downloads will be back up and running, Alternative links are being added where available.
The main change is that there will no longer be unrestricted access to the file servers. People who haven't donated to help cover server costs will still be able to download files but it will be within limits - both in the number of downloads per day and bandwidth used, much like many other free download services. People who have donated towards costs will have unrestricted access.
It's not something I wanted to do but it effectively buys the site a couple of months, during which time hopefully a sponsor or two will be found. There is no minimum donation - it's up to people to decide what they tare comfortable with and how much they'd like the site to stay up and running.
