Richard Burns Rally has been devised to ensure that players demonstrate a number of skills to succeed. Similar to those displayed by the ‘real’ competitors on the world stage today, the game requires abilities such as strategic-thinking, driving expertise and split-second decision-making to name but a few.
The array of features and options are impressive. They include:
- Choice of rallying venues worldwide.
- Selection of cars (Peugeot 206, Citroen Xsara and Subaru Impreza 2003 amongst others).
- Opponents whose different personalities are reflected in their driving styles.
- Simulated car handling.
- Three-dimensional track generation system with associated hazards such as potholes, rocks, puddles and ruts.
- Random weather fronts affecting both car and track.
- Interactive service park.
- Spectators who offer help if the car goes off-road and if that is impossible, helicopter rescues.
Learn the art of rallying from both Richard Burns and his co-driver, Robert Reid as they offer instruction at a rally school in North Wales. With Richard providing the voiceovers and Robert authoring the pace notes, players are left in no doubt that they are experiencing the most authentic game to date.
