What's perhaps the most impressive thing about NFS:U -- or certainly the most immediately striking -- is the graphical sheen the game has even now. The slick pavement effect (and I mean that literally -- slick as in wet and shiny, although it's pretty damn slick in the other sense as well) really heightens the street racing feel, and the twinkling lights of the night cityscapes are plenty atmospheric.
