La Electronic Arts ha comunicato che il nuovo Need for Speed Underground sarà disponibile per la fine di quest'anno (e non nel 2004 come precedentemente annunciato) per le piattaforme XBox, Playstation 2, GameCube, PC e GameBoy Advance. Il gioco online in multiplayer sarà però possibile solo su PC e PS2.
