    Parliamo di volanti Fanatec...

       (0 reviews)

    ClubSport wheel (CSW)
    • about 450 without rim
    • different rims will be available from 150 USD upwards
    • metal base as seen in video
    • PC and PS3 only
    • QR system with many more wheel rims to come (Fanatec system)
    • supports additional axis, encoder switches etc.
    • rev indicator bar

Forza Motorsport CSR Elite wheel (CSR E)

    • 500 USD incl wheel rim
    • same metal base as the CSW
    • PC, PS3 and X360
    • No QR but wheel rims can be easily replaced if you prefer a different rim style
    • Amount of buttons and axis are limited to what the gaming consoles support
    • no rev indicator bar

A few people, including myself, had been looking at the angle at which steering wheel comes out of the base of CSR Elite and Clubsport wheels, thinking what Fanatec is going to do about it. We also knew nothing about the mounting clamp these wheels will use. Now that we know answers to both questions, I decided to write something about this.

    About the angle:

All current Fanatec wheels and wheels by other manufacturers have a slight angle to them. That copies the wheel position from real cars and makes handling it more natural. If you take a look at Fanatec's new metal wheel base, you quickly notice that the steering axis comes out of it straight at 90°. That makes sense for wheel stands and most cockpits, that offer angle adjustability on the wheel mounting plate, but just is not appropriate for mounting the wheel to a table. Imagine having the wheel rim pointing straight from the table at 90° - just not right.
