You still have time to take advantage of iRacing’s great Daytona 2-Fer: Buy the original track before Tuesday (February 14) and you’ll also get our totally updated version of the track when it’s released – complete with new pavement, modified chicane and lighted night versions of the oval and road course. What’s more, the new version of the track will have three different skies: daylight, dusk and night.
That’s two tracks (and three skies!) for the price of one.
Although the “new” Daytona International Speedway will be integrated into iRacing’s various online racing series next week, the “old” Daytona will still be available to members for use in hosted races and private leagues. The new version of the track will be referred to as simply Daytona International Speedway, while the older version will be called Daytona circa 2007(the last scan date prior to the 2011 scan).
“Members who own Daytona circa 2007 when we release the ‘new’ Daytona on Tuesday willget the ‘new’ track for free,” says Tony Gardner, president of iRacing. “Those members who don't own Daytona circa 2007 will be able to buy the new Daytona at the normal price of $14.95 and the old track for $5.00. So the bottom line is, if you don't own Daytona, you can buy Daytona circa 2007 for $14.95 now and then you will get the new one for free -- plus you’ll still have the old Daytona. Obviously, it’s a great track to have for both road and oval racers . . . make that two great tracks!”
