E' nuovamente protagonista la Ultima GTR sulla pista di Snetterton, con un computer tutto sommato di media potenza e non particolarmente spinto.

			Given some concerns following our AMS1 vs AMS2 comparison earlier this week, we´ve elected to do a new video of Automobilista 2 featuring the Ultima GTR Race spec in a couple of laps around Snetterton, running a more advanced version of the game and of that particular car / track combination. Session has 60x time acceleration as it speeds through the morning hours. This capture has a higher bitrate which is more accurate to the game´s actual graphical quality. Antialiasing is set to Supersampling on ultra. The system specs used are: i7-3770k CPU @ 3.50GHz, 16gb RAM, Geforce GTX 1070.

	La <a href="https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/78568-live-for-speed-si-lavora-sulla-grafica-con-effetti-sorprendenti/" rel="">precedente relazione sui progressi compiuti in ambito grafico</a> per Live for Speed riguardava gli aggiornamenti di Kyoto e il nuovo sistema di illuminazione. Da allora, Scawen ha lavorato di più sull'illuminazione, mentre Eric ha continuato a lavorare su Kyoto prima e poi su South City, che non è ancora pronto per essere mostrato. Inizialmente il piano del team era di aggiornare minimamente le aree della pista esistenti per farle funzionare bene con la nuova illuminazione e le ombre, ma poi si è deciso di applicare aggiornamenti approfonditi per portarli a uno standard più moderno. Come vedete dalle immagini e dal video di anteprima, ne è valsa decisamente la pena...

			Technical Update
		</h2>

		<p style="color:#666666; font-size:16px; padding:0px; text-align:start">
			A little under four weeks ago, we hosted the rF24, an endurance race with many high-profile teams and drivers participating at Le Mans. Roughly half-way through we had to red flag the event because of technical issues. Immediately after the event, we released<span> </span><a href="https://www.studio-397.com/2019/07/statement-rf24/" rel="external" style="color:#ed1e24; padding:0px">an official statement</a> and started gathering information from all the participants and set out to try and fix these issues with a special task force. It’s time for an update now.
		</p>

		<p style="color:#666666; font-size:16px; padding:0px; text-align:start">
			In the months leading up to the event, we were already investigating and improving issues some people were having with the physics calculations “freezing”. In investigating that issue, we built a very detailed “stopwatch” system that we could use internally to exactly pinpoint where these delays occurred. We learned a lot from the “logs” that our community submitted and found multiple issues. For one, our timing, code that had been part of rFactor 2 and many ISI-based sims before, turned out not to be the most efficient and reliable way to run something at 400 Hz (and 2400 Hz for the tyres). We rewrote that code, and after several stages of testing these revisions made it into the release. A second issue we discovered had to do with plugins that were taking too much time. We give plugin authors a lot of power, running plugins directly as part of the physics thread, but as you know, with great power comes great responsibility, and unfortunately in some cases, plugins don’t behave nicely. We’ve blacklisted a few plugins and are talking to authors to help them improve. A third issue was in how we sometimes talked to Steam, which has led us to rewrite that code and convert it from a plugin to internal code. We are still diagnosing more rare issues, and there is a forum thread that explains how you can submit your logs for review.
		</p>

		<p style="color:#666666; font-size:16px; padding:0px; text-align:start">
			Now during the event, we ran into issues that have plagued us before, but never this severely and never in a way that we could reproduce. However, we now had so many people reporting issues that we started to see some patterns, so the first step we took was to analyze exactly what had happened. We took our time, collected a lot of data from participants, for which we are very grateful, and then started to try to reproduce specific problems.
		</p>

		<p style="color:#666666; font-size:16px; padding:0px; text-align:start">
			The first issue we could reproduce were join lags. Someone would (re)join the server, and this issue then propagated to all other clients. We discovered that this would happen whenever someone rejoined the server using a car with different upgrades from the ones he used before (such as forgetting to select the low downforce upgrade). Our first fix was to add code that would not propagate such (wrong) upgrades to other clients. We then quickly confirmed that these join lags were indeed gone, which was a big improvement since these were causing all kinds of other issues as well.
		</p>

		<p style="color:#666666; font-size:16px; padding:0px; text-align:start">
			When exploring this first issue, we discovered that it was currently possible to rejoin not just with the wrong upgrades, but even with the wrong livery or even the wrong car, and this was not handled correctly in the code. We saw this cause issues where you ended up with the wrong set of physics because of the upgrades and the server re-applying the same setup you had before, but to a different car. We also saw issues where a car would appear in the garage for some, but on the road for others, and a few other variations that were all caused by the same problem. We decided to solve this in two places. First of all, we now double check when you rejoin that you indeed have exactly the same car, livery and upgrades again. If you don’t, rather than letting it cause problems, the server will boot you and tell you why it did so. Secondly, we added code to the client that, when you connect to a server, will check if your intention is to rejoin. If it is, the server will now tell you directly which car, livery and upgrades to use, and we will simply show you that car in the UI instead of letting you choose anything. We also decided to make the rejoin check a bit more lenient in that you still need to rejoin with the same driver, but this driver is now identified via his Steam ID, meaning that in the case of a hardware failure, if you have multiple installs of rFactor 2, you can even take over on a different client and resume the race.
		</p>

		<p style="color:#666666; font-size:16px; padding:0px; text-align:start">
			Another, slightly unrelated, issue we looked into was loading times. The good news here is we’ve found some improvements and our upcoming release will roughly halve those loading times. We’ve seen numbers being reported by testers indicating a 40-50% improvement.
		</p>

		<p style="color:#666666; font-size:16px; padding:0px; text-align:start">
			Other issues still on our “fix list” are a somewhat smaller lag some people are getting when someone leaves the server as well as a few usability issues, such as the fact that if you got a disconnect right before you made a pitstop, you basically get a car with no fuel when you rejoin, and you have to try and drive a lap first (which will likely fail).
		</p>

		<p style="color:#666666; font-size:16px; padding:0px; text-align:start">
			Right now our intention is to release the first of a series of updates as soon as this rejoin process is “bullet proof”. We are going through a series of tests, each with a bigger set of users, until finally we are confident that we squashed this. Our current estimate is that this first update will go live sometime next week. We won’t stop there, and remain committed to making sure everybody has a good experience racing rFactor 2. Of course, we will also do a re-run of the rF24 when we feel these issues have all been resolved and tested.

<p>
	Il team Reiza Studios ha appena pubblicato il nuovo <a href="https://forum.reizastudios.com/threads/reiza-july-2019-development-update.6393/?fbclid=IwAR0vImVFW2fNH5d3wsYutTDeYiwWOh7HGzWjk5pgjyemYx9AYLaSSaHmdIQ#post-41980" rel="external">diario di sviluppo</a> relativo al mese di Luglio, incentrato principalmente sul <a href="https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/79677-reiza-studios-presenta-il-suo-nuovo-automobilista-2/page/3/&amp;tab=comments#comment-891468" rel="">nuovo ed atteso Automobilista 2</a>. Il team brasiliano sta lavorando contemporaneamente su tre simulatori, ovvero Automobilista 2, Automobilista 1 ed rFactor 2, quest'ultimo per i contenuti aggiuntivi. Il tracciato di Snetterton per esempio sarà disponibile per Automobilista 1 ed anche 2, con un confronto diretto particolarmente interessante che ci viene presentato per ora in video.
</p>

<p>
	Per Automobilista 2 arriveranno invece il glorioso tracciato di Kyalami e le vetture della serie Sprint Race, ma ci vengono mostrati anche alcuni screens inediti delle nuove auto in lavorazione per il nuovo simulatore...

Il publisher inglese ha per esempio confermato che GRID sarà giocabile sia con il volante che con il pad, conterrà anche una modalità "destruction derby", non mancheranno contenuti aggiuntivi post lancio del gioco:

	La Codemasters ha pubblicato un nuovo post di sviluppo sul <a href="http://blog.codemasters.com/grid/07/grid-career-mode-deep-dive/" rel="external">blog ufficiale</a> per spiegare tutte le peculiarità della nuova modalità carriera del <a href="https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/79657-grid-by-codemasters-ritorna-ad-ottobre-con-fernando-alonso/page/3/#comments" rel="">suo prossimo GRID</a>. Qui di seguito un estratto in italiano con alcuni screenshots inediti.

		</p>

		<p>
			La modalità Carriera è la tua occasione per sperimentare ogni disciplina, auto e circuito in GRID, in un formato coinvolgente che ti porta dallo sport motoristico entry-level all'apice delle corse: le GRID World Series. Un totale di 104 eventi ti stanno aspettando in modalità Carriera al momento del lancio, suddivisi in sei discipline: Touring, Stock, Tuner, GT, FA Racing e Invitational.
		</p>

		<p>
			Queste prime cinque discipline ti portano in un viaggio simile: 13 eventi diversi da completare, che variano in base alla durata dell'evento e alla classe di auto, il che porta a un evento Showdown finale (più su quelli in un momento). Invitational dispone di 26 eventi, con una grande varietà di auto esotiche e straordinarie, che portano anche a un evento Showdown.
		</p>

		<p>
			Ogni evento include un obiettivo che devi completare per sbloccare più eventi in quella disciplina e l'obiettivo non sarà sempre quello di vincere la gara. Mentre vengono offerti più premi per vittorie in gara costanti, a volte dovrai solo finire in una posizione target per progredire ulteriormente.
		</p>

		<p>
			Gli showdown sono gli eventi conclusivi di alto livello per ogni disciplina. Ogni Showdown è una gara a due contro due, che mette te e il tuo compagno di squadra contro il miglior team di ogni disciplina, quindi usa la tua abilità di corsa e la tua abilità tattica per vincere questi avvincenti eventi.
		</p>

		<p>
			Dovrai vincere quattro dei sei eventi Showdown per passare al capitolo finale della modalità Carriera. Ciò significa che non è necessario completare tutte le discipline se non si desidera. Puoi concentrarti sulle discipline che ti piacciono di più e appoggiarti a loro durante la carriera.
		</p>

		<p>
			Vincere quattro Showdown ti consentirà di passare alle GRID World Series, la fase finale in modalità Carriera che combina il meglio di ogni disciplina per una serie di corse costellata da stelle come nessun altro. Qui è dove il famigerato Ravenwest Motorsport ti aspetterà, quindi aspettati che qualsiasi vittoria sia conquistata duramente.
		</p>

		<p>
			Prima di scendere in pista, è tempo di creare la tua squadra corse. Scegli il nome e la livrea della tua squadra; sentiti libero di cambiarli in qualsiasi momento, ma questa sarà la squadra che tu e il tuo compagno di squadra rappresentate durante la carriera.
		</p>

		<p>
			Per progredire in modalità Carriera, avrai bisogno di auto e avrai valuta di gioco fin dall'inizio per acquistare alcune auto idonee per gli eventi di apertura. Man mano che avanzi, guadagnerai più valuta, dandoti la possibilità di acquistare più auto e partecipare a più eventi.
		</p>

		<p>
			Accanto troverai il tuo compagno di squadra, che puoi assumere e licenziare in qualsiasi momento in modalità Carriera. Ogni compagno di squadra a cui scegli di gareggiare avrà una personalità diversa che dovrai tenere a mente. Alcuni compagni di squadra saranno veloci ma non collaborativi; altri saranno meno competitivi ma più disposti ad aiutarti; e tutti i tipi di personaggi in mezzo. Scegli il compagno di squadra perfetto e gestisci la sua personalità per darti le migliori possibilità di successo.
		</p>

		<p>
			La modalità Carriera si basa sul focus di GRID sull'accessibilità e sulla scelta, il che significa che puoi regolare il modo in cui vivi la Carriera in base al tuo stile di gioco. Vuoi provare rapidamente l'intera modalità e sfondarla? Mantieni la difficoltà bassa, raggiungi gli obiettivi e avanza rapidamente alle World Series GRID. Vuoi che la carriera sia una prova seria delle tue capacità di guida? Aumenta la difficoltà, abbassa gli assist in macchina e prova a vincere ogni gara per ottenere quei premi extra.
		</p>

		<p>
			E la parte migliore? È solo l'inizio. La modalità Carriera è una parte importante dei nostri contenuti post-lancio per GRID, con un piano a lungo termine per continuare ad aggiungere eventi ed esperienze. La modalità Carriera è impostata su quasi DOPPIA dimensione attraverso nuovi contenuti dopo il lancio, quindi allacciati per una carriera vasta, varia ed elettrizzante come nessun altro.
		</p>

		<p>
			GRID - in uscita l'11 ottobre, con i possessori di Ultimate Edition che giocano dall'8 ottobre. Pre-ordina ora per Xbox One, PS4 e PC.

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Ian Bell, boss del team Slightly Mad Studios, è particolarmente attivo su Twitter negli ultimi giorni per segnalare agli appassionati della saga Project CARS il prossimo arrivo del nuovo capitolo corsaiolo. A detta di Bell, il prossimo <a href="https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/79929-il-prossimo-project-cars-3-una-rivoluzione/&amp;tab=comments#comment-890890" rel="">Project CARS 3</a> sarà una vera e propria "rivoluzione" rispetto al secondo capitolo, tanto che il nuovo titolo dovrebbe appunto chiamarsi <em>Project CARS Revolution</em>:
</p>

<p>
	<img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="42803" data-ratio="35.33" data-unique="g4w22j5hc" width="501" alt="ian bell 1.JPG" src="https://www.drivingitalia.net/uploads/monthly_2019_07/352465229_ianbell1.JPG.247adb1899983678752c1918bc826757.JPG"></p>

<p>
	Rispondendo ad alcune domande, Ian Bell aggiunge che il nuovo Revolution sarà "almeno il 200% superiore rispetto a Project CARS 2" ! Inoltre Bell conferma un importante nuovo partner per Revolution, cosi come "nuovi sviluppi tecnici in ambito multiplayer".
</p>

<p>
	<img class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" data-fileid="42804" data-ratio="21.70" data-unique="al3gkz837" width="493" alt="ian bell 2.JPG" src="https://www.drivingitalia.net/uploads/monthly_2019_07/604341649_ianbell2.JPG.879e8deb4fcc590ede5dd600660ebeba.JPG"></p>

<p>
	Infine viene ribadito che l'intenzione di SMS è quello di "riportare il divertimento nel simracing", vengono confermate molte nuove piste e smentiti sistemi di penalità per gli utenti (tipo iRacing o Assetto Corsa Competizione), perchè causano una grande frustrazione nei giocatori...
</p>

<p>
	<em>Project CARS Revolution </em>dovrebbe essere disponibile entro il 2019, in attesa di ulteriori dettagli, possiamo <a href="https://www.drivingitalia.net/index.php?/forums/topic/79929-il-prossimo-project-cars-3-una-rivoluzione/&amp;tab=comments#comment-890890" rel="">commentare sul forum dedicato</a>.
