  1. File Name: South Shore International Circuit File Submitter: VELOCIPEDE File Submitted: 19 Nov 2014 File Category: Tracks Author : JKA This track is originally my personal "sandbox", where I have tested new textures, models, modelling tricks and everything else related on rF2 modding. In some point I noticed that this would be fun track to race online, so I decided to build fully functional racetrack from it and South Shore was born. South Shore is based (very) loosely on old Brazilian track, which is nowdays demolished. The track modernized to FIA Grade 1 level with redesigned runoff areas, catchfencing and othersafety structures. Same time all track districts was redesigned and rebuild. We have now brand new pitlane with new two-floor pitbuildings and race control tower modernized media center and track offices located on end of the pitlane state-of-the-art Medical Centre with new emergency vehicles new grandstands with total 29406 permanent seats, new pedestrian fairways and new parking areas and -garages. Additional standing place / camping area is located to North-East hill on major events new VIP visitors parlours on end of the pitlane (top two floors) and 4 comfort VIP tents located on near east grandstands modern communication services and local mobile phone nodes to the spectators and VIP visitors track logistics is brought to modern time with new service roads, warehouses and waste management Track statistics GP layout - length 4.75 km / 2.95 Miles, 5 turns left, 10 turns right GT layout - length 4.5 km / 2.79 Miles, 4 turns to left, 9 turns to right Starting Grid - 28 spots Garage - 28 spots (16 two car teams) The track is provided with Light Rubber presets (rrbins) for both layouts. Look for "GPLightRubber" and GTLightRubber" sets on session settings The track is quite hard on your tires, because it contains many long fast / medium-fast corners. Tyre managment is key to succeed here, so dont burn your tires on first few laps of the race. Worn out tires will punish you several seconds per lap.... Track curbs are also quite "aggressive" to prevent cutting. Curbs will unsettle your car, if you let your tires too deep on them... The track is pretty hi-poly, memory-hungry and complex package, so (several years) older PC's might have slight performance problems. If you do suffer poor performance, reduce reflections and shadows click or two. Last resort is turn down number of visible vehicles and texture quality. 2. Fonte. Just want to show you, that I haven't been lazy all these weeks... This GP - style track is about 4,5 km long with two layouts, nice elevations, good mix of flowing corners and some technical ones too. Track is pretty hard on your tires, so you cannot go all out from green light to chequered flag. Track it now 75-80% complete and I'm working hard to get terrain and tso's finalized. I will pass this track to private testing team *soon*. It will take couple of weeks before this one is ready for release. Some track facts: GT layout Lenght: 4,5 km number of turns: 13 (4 to the right, 9 to the left) International layout Lenght: 4,85 km number of turns 15 (5 to the right, 10 to the left) Grid size: 28 (on both layouts) Garage spots: 28 (on both layouts) Average laptimes GT layout: 1:26 (Formula One) Int layout: 1:34 (Formula One)

http://www.drivingit...s&showfile=3982 This is FULL COMPONENT, not update. It's strongly advised to uninstall previous version 0.5 before installing this. I wish I could release this as an update, but after banging my head to the wall few days when trying to make update component work, I decided to release this version as independent, full component. I'm still troubleshooting component update problems and I'm not sure, if its rF2 BETA problem or lack of my knowledge. When those problems are solved, I will release update components instead of full component (like this one...). Changelog: - added little bit more tso's to garage area and s/f straight - added fully functional SteerWheelMaps for each layout - added Pit Exit Official to help exit pits correctly without getting black flagged - added Starter Worker to S/F box, so there is somebody to wave checkered flag when race is over... - added few new animations to few characters - moved flaggerstations and Corner Workers correct points around the track to match real life track design - fixed a bug with start lights illumination - minor improvements to few textures Next couple of days I will concentrate on AIW improvements and update packaging/installing problem, instead of gfx updates. This means that I will release series of updates in few days timespan, which will add features and fix problems. As rF2 is in BETA stage itself and it's gfx engine is under heavy developing, final version won't be released until rF2 reach Gold. Download link contains base COMPONENT file. Copy file to your Packages - folder and install it with Mod Manager. Remember uncheck Options/Show Mods only to make Mod Manager show components as well and install it normally. Use All Cars & Tracks option to select the track. Track contains three layouts: National, Club and Oval. In real life, club circuit is most used. Oval is used very, very rarely, or not at all. National circuit is under construction as we speak and will be opened in spring 2013. All layouts were modelled to scenery using actual blue prints/ACAD files and GPS data provided by track- and engineering companies. (Hi Jukka, Joni, Janika, Matti, Mika, Raimo and Juha! ) Known problems of the track are: - All three layouts contains only very basic AIW files, which won't work perfectly. You can add only FIVE AI DRIVERS to your race, no more. If you add more, rF2 will crash. To be safe side at this point, jump right to the grid and leave practice and qualifying session alone if you want to race agains AI. However, practice session work normally for private testing (with limitation of 5 AI drivers). - There is NO camera files on this track at all. This means you cannot get external, TV - style view on replays. - The track has NOT been optimized yet at all. There is no LoD's, VisGroups, ShadowGroups and other features used, which will help optimize performance. If you have performance problems, turn down shadows, HDR etc. to gain more fps. - Scenery details are about 60 % complete, so many tso's and other details will be added via upcoming updates. - There are many gfx abnormalies, like poorly mapped- and placeholder-textures, lightning problems, missing details, etc.
