It started like another conversion, but eventually I rebuild almost everything in 3DSMAX. It can be considered a 90% NEW creation, but still I like to give credit to Anton Norup Sorenson, without whom I wouldn't even have known this sweet Danish track existed. I did use his original rfactor version as a starting base. Still some room for improvement, bit this track has been in my WIP far too long. Have Fun Click here to download this file

This track host amateur and pro racing, the main events being the Formula 3 and TC2000. It was build from the scratch for rF by MrOblongo. File Name: Osterreichring 1979 File Submitter: Alessandro Pollini File Submitted: 09 Feb 2012 File Category: Tracks Author : DutchDevil & derDumeklemmer Österreichring 1979 for GTL V1.1 ================================ This track was made originally for the GP 79 mod for rFactor based on the GPL verison and is now converted to GTL to have some fun with the GTL cars. Expect the other tracks from the GP 79 mod to as these old tracks are a blast in GTR2/GTL and the GP 79 mod team did a nice job with them. - DutchDevil will take care of the GTR2 releases. - Dumeklemmer will take care of the GTL releases. What Wikipedia mentions about: ============================== The Österreichring was an Austrian race circuit which hosted the Formula One Austrian Grand Prix 18 consecutive years, from 1970 through 1987. After being shortened, rebuilt and renamed A1-Ring, it again hosted races from 1997 through 2003. The track is located in Spielberg, Styria. The old Österreichring was more often referred to as being located at Zeltweg, which is bigger and better known. However, the circuit was never relocated, only modified. In addition, the one-off 1964 Austrian Grand Prix was held at Zeltweg Airfield, so this name was already known. The track was known for having many fast corners, as well as noticeable changes in elevation during the course of a lap. Many considered the Österreichring to be dangerous, especially the "Boschkurve", a 180-degree right-hand corner with almost no run-off area. Tragically, American Mark Donohue died after crashing at the "Hella-Licht" corner in 1975. It is also known that four-times World Champion Alain Prost often said that all tracks can be changed but that the Österreichring should remain unchanged, just adding run-off areas would be fine.
