  1. Riassumiamo in un singolo post tutti i punti toccati durante la nostra videorecensione, nel caso non abbiate il tempo di guardarla per intero. ITA CSL P1 All'inizio, i materiali usati sembravano un po' "economici" e le palette del cambio non sembravano essere rapide nella risposta Usandola, tali impressioni sono sparite e la corona si è dimostrata perfetta da usare sia con auto GT che Formula; le palette hanno sempre funzionato a dovere Il display è un'ottima aggiunta: ad un primo sguardo sembra una semplice aggiunta per far felice i simracer, in realtà è incredibilmente utile durante la guida in quanto permette di sapere sempre a che giri motore si è, anche guardandolo solo con la coda dell'occhio Ci vuole un po' per abituarsi alla posizione dei pulsanti, in quanto non sono disposti in maniera simmetrica e si devono mettere le dita a due altezze differenti sui due lati L'unico punto debole del rim è il materiale con cui è rivestita la corona: lascia sempre un senso di "attaccaticcio" sulle mani, soprattutto durante le giornate più calde. Sarebbe ottimo se Fanatec potesse rilasciare in futuro un rim simile, ma con un grip migliore (chiaramente ad un prezzo più alto) Non è presente un sistema di quick release come accade invece sugli altri volanti Fanatec, ma l'aggancio si è dimostrato solido e questa soluzione è stata adottata nell'ottica di contenere i costi. CSL Elite Pedals Di base la pedaliera è venduta nella configurazione a due pedali. È possibile aggiungerne un terzo dotato di cella di carico Questa volta sono presenti dei potenziometri al posti di sensori magnetici o di hall I potenziometri hanno una risoluzione di 12 bit, la cella di carico di 16 bit La maggiore risoluzione può essere apprezzata chiaramente nei software di calibrazione come DiView Durante la guida non sia ha un'idea chiara della maggiore risoluzione, ma si percepisce sempre una grande continuità nel movimento del pedale, cosa che rende la guida molto fluida e precisa I pedali di base hanno molle con resistenza leggermente diversa Utilizzando l'adattatore in poliuretano sul pedale del freno/frizione si può variare la durezza della pressione e simulare il rilascio della frizione Il terzo pedale funziona ora interamente come cella di carico, non c'è più alcuna molla che poi preme sulla cella stessa Usando diversi gommini distanziatori e il parametro brake force si possono ottenere molti diversi settaggi, perfetti per coloro che vogliano una corsa e una resistenza più o meno lunghe Aggiustare la posizione dei pedali richiede sempre di rimuovere uno dei due ai lati, sarebbe stato più comodo permettere alle barre che li collegano di uscire lateralmente, ma è un problema minore Il feeling sul pedale del freno è simile a quello che si ha dalla pressione del rispettivo pedale su di un'auto vera a motore spento, richiede un po' di tempo per abituarcisi, ma poi è veramente soddisfacente Il nuovo driver offre la possibilità di regolare il minimo e il massimo della corsa per eliminare qualsiasi tipo di zona morta Il piatto del pedale può essere cambiato, ma manca un supporto adeguato per il punta tacco La soluzione a tre pedali potrebbe sembrare costosa, ma è realizzata interamente in metallo e vale il prezzo CSL Elite Base La base inizialmente sembrava un avversario per il T300, ma la stessa Fanatec ha affermato di puntare più alla fascia del T500 L'obiettivo è pienamente raggiunto e a nostro avviso addirittura superato Dopo aver guidato sistemi di sterzo professionali che offrono molta precisione e forza, la CSL Base è il primo prodotto "commerciale" che dà un feeling simile Quando si pensa che il FFB stia clippando, in realtà c'è ancora margine e questo rende la guida veramente appagante Dopo aver testato la base con WheelCheck, possiamo affermare che non è presente zona morta All'accensione c'è la tradizionale calibrazione, la base si avvia sempre in modalità XBox, ma questo è un limite imposto da Microsoft e passare alla modalità PC è veramente rapido La base ha 1080 gradi di rotazione È presente del rattling avvertibile in maniera chiara, qualcosa di insolito per un sistema a cinghia, ma è un problema minore La base può essere configurata come da tradizione tramite le impostazioni settabili dalla corona Di default, la base ha un feeling molto "elastico", qualcosa di simile al T300. It would be great if Fanatec would release a similar rim with a better grip in the future (obviously at a higher cost) There is no quick release like in the other Fanatec's rims, but the mounting is always solid and this is clearly needed to contain cost. CSL Elite Pedals By default the pedals are sold in the two-pedals configuration. It is possible to add the third pedal with a load cell This time there are potentiometers instead of magnetic or hall sensors Potentiometers have 12 bit resolution, load cell has 16 bit resolution The higher resolution can be clearly seen with a calibration tool like DiView While driving you don't get a clear idea of the higher resolution, but in general you feel a great continuity in the pedal movement, that makes the driving very fluid and precise Default pedals have slightly different spring resistence Using the foam you can make the clutch/break pedal harder to push and can simulate the clutch bite The third pedal now works entirely as a load cell, there is no spring that then pushes on the load cell Using different elastometers and brake force you can get a lot of different settings, perfect for those who want a longer or shorter travel and resistence Adjusting pedals position always require to remove one of the two at the sides, it would have been nice to be able to adjust the position by letting the two bars exit from the sides, but it's a very minor problem Brake feeling is similar to the one you get while pressing a real car brake pedal with engine off, it takes sometimes to get used, but after that it is really rewarding The new driver also has a min/max settings that eliminates every possible deadzone Pedal's plate can be changed, there is no good support for heel and toe Three pedals solution might seem expensive, but it's a set fully made of metal and it is worth it CSL Elite Base The base at first seemed a competitor for T300, but as Fanatec says it aims at T500 That target is fully reached and is even better After driving professional steering systems that offer a lot of precision and strenght, the CSL Base is the first "commercial" base that gives a similar feeling When you think the FFB is clipping, in reality there's still room and it makes the driving very satisfying After testing the base with WheelCheck we saw there is no dead zone. At power on there's the standard calibration process, it always starts in XBox mode, but that's a limitation required by Microsoft and switching to PC mode is really fast The base has 1080 degrees of rotation There is some noticeable rattling, something unusual for a belt driven system, but it's a minor issue The base can be configured as usual with the settings on the rim By default, the base has a very "elastic" feeling, something similar to T300. Setting Drift Mode to 2 or 3 that feeling completely disappear and makes the base really shine, something that we've never been able to reach with some competitors' bases. If you're planning to upgrade your hardware, take in serious consideration this base as it feels almost like a new beginning for commercial (non professional) steering systems. ----------------- La tedesca Fanatec annuncia il lancio della nuova linea di prodotti denominata CSL Elite Series, che comprende la CSL Elite Wheel Base con servo motore per i volanti (prezzo 319€) e la pedaliera in metallo CSL Elite Pedals LC (prezzo 219€). Qui di seguito tutti i dettagli. CSL stands for „ClubSport Light“ and racing fans know that light is good. We essentially used the technology of the ClubSport series and concentrated on pure performance and durability rather than fancy materials or a the prefect finish you know from the ClubSport series. Of course we also had to cut a few features but on the other side we also added a few innovative features which cannot be found anywhere else. Therefore the CSL products are 100% Fanatec and state-of-the-art! You can find the full description on our webshop or in the press release but here are the highlights of the new base and the new pedals. Both products are sold separately and of course they are compatible to most previous Fanatec equipment. CSL Elite Wheel Base - Super strong and fast brushless servo motor which delivers 6 NM on the steering axis - Single belt drive unit with just one belt between axis and motor - Automotive grade QR system and compatibility to all Fanatec CSL or ClubSport steering wheels - 1080° of rotation. Good for drifting - Rev Lights integrated on the base - Strong table clamp integrated - 2 shifter ports plus handbrake port. There are CSL Shifters and handbrake also coming up next CSL Elite Pedals and CSL Elite Pedals Loadcell Kit - Solid full metal construction - Basic set comes with two pedals but with the optional Loadcell Kit you add a loadcell brake and transform the former brake pedal into a clutch pedal. - Great brake feeling even on the basic set as it comes with a strong metal spring and a PU foam damper/spring - The loadcell brake pedal is actually a big loadcell. The whole arm is the sensor and it measures pedal pressure of up to 90kg. Of Course you can adjust the brakeforce during gameplay. - Travel and stiffness of the LC brake can be easily and quickly adjusted without the need of tools - You can choose between 3 surfaces for your pedal plates. Blank metal, rubber or a sandpaper anti-skid patch My team has worked a long time and very hard to bring those products to the market. I am very proud of them and also my thanks goes to the feedback of all testers and the community for telling us what you really want and need. And finally a word to the PlayStation situation. We know that a lot of people want to know what the status is but we cannot announce anything before the contract is signed. We have a good relationship with Sony but we need to follow the rules and although there are absolutely no points of disagreement, sometimes things takes a while because of procedures and work flows. Dopo il successo della linea CSL Elite Series per PC (non perdete la nostra recensione), la Fanatec lancia sul mercato il nuovo CSL Elite Racing Wheel, volante ufficiale per Playstation 4 (compatibile ovviamente anche con il PC). La base ha lo stesso motore del ClubSport v2.5, con una velocità maggiore, mentre il volante, più leggero, ha una rifinitura in blu molto accattivante, con pulsanti intercambiabili e le leve del cambio con tecnologia Snaptron, per un miglior feeling. The CSL Elite Racing Wheel - officially licensed for PS4 is available in our webshop from today and it is the first Fanatec racing wheel which is officially licensed by Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe (SIEE) for PlayStation 4. In the press release we will talk about the specs and features but most of you already know our products well so let me tell you some inside information. The Wheel Base The base looks obviously very similar to our CSL Elite Wheel base, but there are some significant differences. As this is an officially licensed product we added some electronics provided by Sony and this ensures that the racing wheel is properly recognized by the console The motor tor driver electronics are completely different to the CSL Elite Wheel Base and the same as on the ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5. The motor itseld and the power supply is also identical to the CS WB V2.5 but because of the diffferent gear ratio, this wheel base has less torque but more speed. The Steering Wheel The steering wheel of the CSL Elite Racing Wheel also looks familiar but we improved it significantly on several points over the existing CSL P1 Steering Wheel. It now comes with perforated genuine leather and suede fabric with blue stitching. The weight is now reduced to 970g which makes it the lightest steering wheel in our range. This increases acceleration and consumes less torque. The shifter paddles have been re-designed and now include Snaptron® snapdomes. They deliver a sensational positive and strong click feeling. The buttons are now interchangeable so you can use easy symbols to remember the mapping of your most important racing game functions. Please note that the steering wheel will not be sold separately for now. Compatibility By working really closely with SIEE on the development of the CSL Elite Racing Wheel we have been able to integrate features that we know racing fans on the PS4 will be able to appreciate, including: Fully supported within the PS4 console menu. Enables advanced functionality with select upcoming compatible games, including GT Sport. The CSL E RW is backwards compatible to all games which were compatible to the CS WB V2 with the help of a compatibility mode. It will work fine in the game but not in the system menu of the console. Assetto Corsa and Dirt 4 are the first fully compatible titels and many more will follow. This includes F1 2017, Project Cars II and of course GT Sport. Availability At the moment the CSL Elite Racing Wheel is only available in Europe and Australia but we are exploring the possibility of expanding the availability into further markets. The orders will be shipped right away. We will also have a special introduction bundle which will be attractive especially to new customers.
