  2. Le Mans 1991-96 v1.00 is available now (~181MB): download -> http://www.drivingitalia.net/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=5282 Basic info: - This is a greatly improved version of the previous release. The most refined area is the guardrails and the specularity levels of the objects. A lot more objects are reflected on the cars or during rain. AI has been refined and the AI-does-not-pit bug has been fixed. Oh and there's also pit perches now. - Originally the track was started for rF1 by Sylvain Glapa, who has done an incredible job with most of which you still see today. The largest ones (in my opinion) would be the trees (look out for the distinct types in the right areas), the road surface modelling and the grandstands/pit buildings. The shaders and some textures have evolved but without his basis we would not have such a track today, let alone one this great. - The shoulders down the Hunaudières straight are not for driving. We could not find any hard info but racing cars generally do not use it outside cases of emergency. We implemented this by making them uncomfortably bumpy. - If you find something that should not be please leave a kind note. Few things are worse than you having a point that we don't read because it was presented in an unkind manner. Incomplete Changelog for v1.00 - fuel consumption recalculated, didn't notice any mods being impacted by this but better safe than sorry. - increased LOD bias for some textures which increases resolution at a distance, lessening unintentional "haze" effects, if that's what you guys meant - a lot more objects will now reflect on the cars, most noticably on cars with high reflection settings and dark paint schemes. This does cost a fair amount of performance so make sure to test the track with your favourite mod and desired number of cars again. There are three settings for reflections now, No (meaning a static cube map), Low and High - trackside cameras have optimized shadow ranges to lessen the issue of car shadows disappearing too soon - sunblock meshes have been added, one to fix sunlight showing through gaps, one to avoid having objects lighted once the sun moves below the horizon - reworked a handful textures, increasing texture size minimally where helpful. Also optimized the mip map bias to sharpen textures which are already large enough. - guardrails have had extensive work done on them. Gaps have been protected by rebuilding the guardrails. Variety maps have been added in two distinct varieties. - made shadows beneath tirewalls transparent instead of opaque black - fixed intermittent specularity issue on helicopters - worked on specularity, especially of the road and the guardrail. For some reason they had practically no specularity in v0.90. - re-assigned pit spots, now including 23 pit spots instead of the previous 18. Maximum number of cars is still 46. - eliminated any flashing in the specular effects I could find Performance guide: - Use the Track Detail and Shadow Detail settings! Both are implemented intensively for you to fine-tune performance. Max/Full settings are beyond what my machine can easily manage. Don't be afraid to use High or even Medium settings, it will still look good. - If you only have 1GB of Video RAM you might struggle due to the size of the track. Single Player should be fine even at high/full settings, but as soon as you load more than one or two AI cars you will probably see slow-downs. I'd suggest to go down to Track Detail: High and Shadow Detail: Medium as a first step and see if that frees up enough Video RAM for you. Track Detail: Medium and a lower Texture Detail setting would be the next steps. Known Issues: - There is some flickering and clipping present due to the size of the track. We tried to minimize the flickering, especially with the spectators on the grandstands when looking straight at them from your garage, but could not completely eliminate it. This is more pronounced in some cars (depending on how far away the near clipping plane is as far as we can tell) rather than others. - We had a single case of the pace car not deploying for a rolling start online but could not replicate it offline where it worked just as it should. If you encounter this please let us know. - The 370z is prone to rolling over when cutting the second curb (the one on the right) of the Ford chicanes, presumably due to the underside hitting the edge at a bad angle or the suspension travel being too short. We, much like the FIA probably would, advise not to cut the curb. If you notice this kind of behaviour with other cars as well, let us know. - On some systems the Zeppelin is showing through the trees. This is an issue with rF2 that should be fixed with the next build. Some screens:

  8. The Most Spectacular Sports Cars have finally returned to your Computer. Finally is absolutely the right word. We are the first to say it took us a very, VERY long time to build. Personally we see it as a great victory of endurance that we where able to push on for such a long time. It was sometimes hard to keep working on this and just because we as friends helped each other we made it. Now prepare to be transported back in time and relive the overwhelming sound and fury of racing cars from 1976 to 1988, showcased in unprecedented detail. There are 58 cars, 514 liveries, and a custom UI. Never before has a collaboration of artists and engineers come together to produce such an encapsulating mod for rFactor1. All cars are modelled to look identical to their real life variants. The Porsche 956, Lancia LC-2, and Jaguar XJR-5 where reworked from the F1C models and all other models created from scratch. Textures were made with the help of thousands of images and videos, and lots of discussions on forums. Sounds were taken from samples of the real cars where possible. Physics were made and tuned from real data and information from mechanics and drivers of the actual cars. Some of these cars are hard to drive fast. Some are very easy. We tried to use the tire info from the period and not from cars that drive today (which would have made things way more easy.) Because of the immense size of this mod, we decided to split the mod up in three parts. There are NO tracks in this mod. AI training is done for tracks Virtua_LM created and that helps the AI be more responsive, drive better lines, and not stop suddenly. Please read the readme file carefully. It holds some hints into making the driving experience more fun. Download -> http://www.drivingitalia.net/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=7209

    rF2: Sportscars Unlimited by Virtua_LM

So you thought after GTPC v1 Virtua_lm was in for a vacation??? HELL no!! Today we will anounce the next chapter we have started. Sportscars Unlimited This mod will be build for Rfactor2. No logo yet just a name and a few renders. So what is it. After release of GTPC we started talking about what to do next. First most important thing was we wanted to build cars we as group really liked and we wanted to thank a couple of people who helped us a lot with info for GTPC by building their cars. So we started gathering info for a couple of cars. 1. Gebhardt c91 2. Brun c901. 3 Interpid RM1. Virtua_lm tries to make historical correct cars. So a lot of fun we have is finding all those small details, contacting original racedrivers, mechanics and try to get as much info as possible to recreate them and be as historical correct as possible in looks, physics. That is for us the fun of modding. Because we have upgrades it is impossible right now to build this for AC. So yes it looks like we model the later years of sportscar racing now. But Unlimited in Sportscar Unlimited stands for cars WE like so could be a older sportscar car too. Vivemclaren has started to model the RM1. Today we would like to show you his first progress report. As you can see lot of work is still to be done. Vivemclaren do" list 1991 : Adding a small rod for #65 (Mid Ohio) 1992 MTI : Extra louvres front hood 1992 MTI : Low downforce rear wing (need look for pictures in historic races) 1992 MTI : Finish the rear part Rods on the front hood : Scale them All versions : details All versions : Engine & mechanical part and then all the other stuff..... So still a very long way to go. We are still on the lookout for images from a few races. The final Patch is worked on. Personally I am working on making the paint templates ready, Swisshutless physics and Vivemclaren in between modeling few 3d model issues. Smaller paint issues are less importatn to us Possibe with a extra car but Let us see if we can make that happen for real.. I think the builder. Monsum The track modeller who brought you Sebring, Le Mans, Mid ohio Made one carThat car will hopfully be included in GTPC. A car originally made for GTX5!

  11. Fonte. Monsum ha mostrato le prime immagini di anteprima di questa nuova pista. Probabile che venga rilasciata poi sotto nome Virtua_LM. Very early WIP of a new rFactor 2 project: Watkins Glen International (nicknamed “The Glen”) is an automobile race track located near Watkins Glen, New York, at the southern tip of Seneca Lake. The sports car racing facility is owned by International Speedway Corporation. It was long known around the world as the home of the United States Grand Prix, which it hosted for twenty consecutive years (1961–1980), but since 1948 the site has been home to road racing of nearly every class, including Formula One, the World Sportscar Championship, Trans-Am, Can-Am, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and the IndyCar Series.

  18. Fuji Speedway 2012 download -> http://www.drivingitalia.net/forum/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=3522 Changelog: v1.04 - Fix for AI slowing down at s/f line - enabled GetMod Changelog: v1.03 - Some minor fixes v1.02 - Reduced number and size of environment maps to work around a rF2 issue that would lead to bloated VRAM-usage - some small texture size improvements - completely remodelled marshall and starter huts - tweaked road materials - white lines have been lifted from the road texture and put into their own 3d model for slightly better visuals and variation - some fixed smoothing (if find any remaining buildings with messed up smoothing let me know) - some fixed road material properties - added some fake skidmarks The track was originally created by me (ethone) for rF1 back in 2007 and has now been converted and significantly updated to current standards by me and with the help of Virtua_LM. It includes two layouts (the F1 GP layout and a GT layout shortcutting the chicane) and a range of new trackside objects. If you have a less powerful PC you can make good use of the Track Detail and Shadow Detail settings which are extensively implemented. The track is designed to work comfortably with High settings (one below maximum) but does provide some extra objects and non-essential shadows for those who have the hardware to support it.

  20. No, non state sognando: questa magnifica pista ha finalmente visto la luce del giorno! Buon download!!!
