Eurosport Events, RaceRoom and Sector3 Studios are happy to announce that they continue their partnership, and that the FIA WTCR 2018 will come to RaceRoom along with a huge Esports WTCR campaign, in cooperation with the Nürburgring and KW Suspensions. RaceRoom and Eurosport Events already had a successful partnership in past years, with the FIA WTCC being represented in the racing simulation starting from the 2013 season to 2017. Last year, the inaugural eSports WTCC was run as an online championship, with German simracer Alexander Dornieden taking the title, and even securing himself a place in the Race Of Champions. The Nürburgring and RaceRoom have also been cooperating for a long time, with the iconic Nordschleife featured in RaceRoom and the RaceRoom Café as a popular location on the ring°boulevard. This year, the stakes are raised for the Esports WTCR. It all kicks off in the ring°arena at the Nürburgring with the Launch Event. Qualifiers will be held on-site on May 10th and 11th, where all gamers and simracers are invited to push the WTCR cars to the limit, beat the real WTCR drivers and qualify for the races on May 12th, which will be broadcasted live online. For spectators, entry is free at the venue. A large amount of drivers will have the opportunity of competing against similarly skilled drivers and winning their share of the 25.000€ prize pool, due to the division model and a big prize split, where over 80 drivers will receive prize money. 3. A new track is now available! Joining the list of WTCC venues comes Twin-Ring Motegi. This track, located in Japan, was on the calendar of the final three seasons of the FIA WTCC series: 2015, 2016 and 2017. This is not all, we're also bringing a complete overhaul of various cars. The biggest change being a big merger between GTR 1 and GTR X car classes. They're now upgraded to our highest physics quality level and closely balanced together. For those of you who were around in 2012 when RaceRoom was in open beta, you'll remember the Nissan GTR GT1. After all these years sitting in a dark virtual garage, this car has now been unleashed and added to the GTR 1 class as well. The Pagani Zonda R was also upgraded and now lives in its own single-make cup class with many liveries available. Another car received some physics upgrades: the Formula RaceRoom Junior. Alex, our physics designer, has treated you with his own version of what this car should handle like, all based on the data and experience collected when he was racing such cars a few years ago. On the sound side, we're improving as well! Anthony, our sound engineer, has been busy delivering many new reasons for our ears to rejoice! Read about it all in detail below!

The next patch is approaching very fast, and it will include some highly anticipated new cars! Let's start by introducing the first of three Porsche race cars awaiting you in the December patch. Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (2017) The latest incarnation of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is based on the seventh generation of this sports car icon, and it lives up to its calling: uncompromising performance on the race track. The fate of the 911 GT3 Cup is played out in the Porsche one-make championships, where the only thing that counts is the performance of the individual driver. While carrying "GT3" in its name, the car has quite different driving characteristics compared to its bigger brother, the GT3 R. The lack of ABS & Traction control makes it quite a challenge to drive and will put your skills on track to a test. A special feature of this car are the purple LED lights on the data display, that will warn you about traction loss & locking brakes. More images here We will reveal the other two Porsche race cars coming to RaceRoom in 2017 in the coming days. Stay tuned! The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup will be released very soon!

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (2017) The latest incarnation of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is based on the seventh generation of this sports car icon, and it lives up to its calling: uncompromising performance on the race track. The four-liter six-cylinder boxer unit delivers up to 485 hp. The drive force is transmitted to the rear axle by six-speed sequential dog-type transmission.
