    rF2: FIA GT3 by Apex Modding v0.930

    Physics changes by Lgel 1 The revised physics while retaining the unique features of each car and offer now similar tuning ranges for every car. 2 AI speed has been balanced too. 3 Each car needs a specific setup, those of previous version 0.92 may not work as intended. 4 The default setups are meant to be drivable out of the box, they are on the safe side (mild understeer). 5 They are not optimal for braking strength and balance, gearing, cooling of motor and brakes, and may be tire pressures. Tires reach their pressure balance after 5 to 6 laps, they don't like to be abused. 6 Cars should have similar level of performance, depending on tracks some cars may be faster than others, for leagues the recommended mean of leveraging performance is to impose weight penalties as FIA does in real life for these cars. 7 pits time for every car are now the same Graphical changes by Tosch 1 Rendering of every car, body, windows and rims. 2 New flare lights on every car, only one plane object for each light needed now. 3 Optimized lods on every car to improve FPS hickups and avoid ghost objects. 4 New collision 3d model, less than 100 polys, to avoid some strange collision bug. 5 Added moving mirrors (thanks redapg for the help). 6 Windshield and windshield banner problem fixed. 7 2015 spa 24h Z4 skin added.

    rF2: Flat6 in arrivo e tante novità!

    Sono davvero tante le novità disponibili oggi per rFactor 2: cominciamo dalla nuova versione 1.63 della divertentissima Clio Cup degli ISI, quindi la possente Chevrolet Camaro release 1.6 sempre degli ISI, passiamo poi alla nuovissima Lola T290 creata da Ougaard e chiudiamo col segnalarvi le tantissime nuove skins grafiche create dal maestro Koda Factory. Inoltre il team Enduracers ha annunciato con il trailer che vedete qui sotto l'ormai imminente arrivo in rFactor 2 dell'attesissimo Flat6 Series Mod ! The official Flat6 Series rF2 trailer is now available ! Enjoy the spirit of the mod, designed for your upcoming leagues and offline races in epic and close battles. Designed with rF2 graphic and physic features, the mod takes the best of the 3D designed already released in anticipation for the rF1 users. The video is made by Hompe. We thank the track creators of the circuits used in the video, and ISI for the rF2 development. The team is dedicating the video to Sean Edwards, true Flat6 Cup historic driver, gone too early but still in our mind. The mod is now in his final steps, on both graphic and physic sides, and should enter final beta testing in the following weeks. Of course the mod will evolve after the initial release, to enjoy the upcoming rF2 improvements.

The base 1955 Porsche 550/1500 RS (110 BHp, Dunlop R3 natural rubber tires - overheats at 80C, huge slip angle possible) And the "s1" version being a late 50's hillclimb prepared version with RSK engine part upgrade, increased displacement (1650-1700cc) and new Dunlop R5 tires (synthetic rubber) slightly wider rubber at the rear. Such a car finished 2nd at the 1960 Pikes Peak with Roger Ward at the wheel. We used dyno curves of a 547 1755cc engine. Porsche 550 physics background The 550 was basically the first ever mid-engine road car, so its design is not perfect. Suspension was all based on VW parts. Front was the double torsion bars (a Porsche patent) and rear was a basic swing axle - both causing horrible camber change under cornering. On top of that, the frame was weak and twisted a lot. It has drum brakes and 50's tires less than 100mm (4'') wide. However, aerodynamics was very sleek. Weight and inertia are extremely low (under 600kg) and the 4-cam 547 engine was way ahead of its time, revving easily up to 7500 rpm. It would be Porsche's race department workhorse for an entire decade. Overall the car has good handling for its time, but it was notoriously oversteering . Many period pictures show 550's in oversteer. Ken Miles (aka "Spyderman") said: "Steering the 550 was very much a matter of very large steering movement to produce the desired result", He also mentioned this about the 550 vs 550A (not in the mod currently) “The change in handling is unbelievable. Gone was the excessive oversteer (of the original 550), the RS (550A) was now as forgiving a car as one could possibly wish to meet." He gave us permission to use with pleasure. Other sound samples are recorded by Ensyuya from real classic VWs or Kunos original ones. Polycounts, file size and distance for optimization are about LOD A 230000 95mb from 0 meter LOD B 131000 79mb from 6 meters LOD C 45000 32mb from 32 meters LOD D 14000 5mb from 48 meters Damage model function fully works. 550 spyder mod got all functions that should be in this mod. All functions Kunos implemented in AC are working properly. Benchmark of 550/1500 RS Spyder mod I tried to measure the PC system performance hit of 550/1500 RS Spyder mod, because the development of basic part of this mod has been completed all. I used the official Alfa Romeo GTA for comparison as the benchmark. Generally results are not so bad for this mod. The load of this mod to the system is about 30% heavier than the Alfa Romeo GTA.     Mentre prosegue senza sosta il lavoro di sviluppo (ecco alcuni screens dell'Audi), il team Apex Modding ha anche rilasciato per rFactor 2 la nuova versione aggiornata 0.928 del suo ottimo FIA GT3 Mod.     Oggi la tedesca Fanatec possiamo davvero definirla "scatenata": tramite il blog ufficiale ha annunciano numerosi nuovi prodotti già disponibili, come ad esempio i volanti ClubSport steering wheel GT, ClubSport steering wheel Round 1, ClubSport steering wheel Flat 1, ma fra le tante novità si distingue certamente il volante ClubSport Steering Wheel Porsche 918 RSR, replica di quello originale montato sull'omonima vettura! The race version of the Porsche 918 supercar is the best what Porsche has to offer at the moment and a true masterpiece of Germaneering. We loved the breathtaking style of the car and the interior from the first moment and the steering wheel got our attention right away. The combination of elegant super car and minimalistic race car style is unmatched and there is no word to describe how great it feels in your hand. But form follows function so it also comes with the extremely helpful shift light indicators which are placed right in front of your eyes. By the use of expensive materials like carbon fibre and high-end PU foam and leather on the rim we were also able to reduce the weight significantly. This will result in much better performance.

    rFactor 2: FIA GT3 by Apex v0.88

    Il team Apex Modding ha rilasciato per rFactor 2 la nuova versione aggiornata 0.88 del suo interessante FIA GT3 Mod. Oltre ai consueti bugfix e migliorie generali, questa release del progetto ci mette a disposizione due nuove vetture, ovvero la 799 RGT3 e la Corvette Z06. - added the 799 RGT3 and corvette Z06 , those two cars are converted model of our rfactor1 mod ,so 3d models are of lower quality compared to SLS. - sounds for Porsche are actually quite good. With Vette, they are unfortunatelly a bit worse. We are looking for better sources for samples. - all cars have updated tyres, - by default, gear ratios are locked to homologated pairs but we included an upgrade which unlocks all available ratios, - steering lock is locked but for people with wheels with rotation range of 270 degrees and lower, we provided an upgrade allowing to set steering lock between 10 and 14 degrees in 0.1 deg. steps by steps. - engine heating and other "minor" things are not yet updated, - AI tyres are also updated, but we still don't like 799R, at least not as much as Corvette or SLS. - updated sls sfx file (thanks Valter Cardoso and Jamezinho ) - 799R has rather high default camber and right now it doesn't work well so we suggest you to lower it (to less negative), almost to minimum actually. we think, range -2.5 to -3.0 front and -2.0 to -2.5 degrees rear works the best right now.

    FIA GT3 si blocca su rFactor 2?

    Errata corrige: Yoss, direttore dei lavori all'interno dell'Apex Modding team, ha commentato quanto segue, specificando inoltre come il commento riportato inizialmente fosse vecchio di due mesi e non veritiero dell'attuale situazione del mod. -------------------------- Il noto team Apex Modding ha deciso di bloccare lo sviluppo del suo FIA GT3 Mod per rFactor2, in sostanza perchè non soddisfatto allo stato attuale dei progressi del simulatore made in ISI, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la fisica, quella delle gomme in particolare. Sembra inoltre che anche cosm1 abbia abbandonato la creazione della sua Ferrari 458 Italia, per vari problemi riscontrati con il software. Speriamo in ogni caso di non perdere definitivamente progetti cosi interessanti... Indeed, for the moment, all the members of the apex team are not convinced at all by rfactor 2. Moreover, other GT3 mods (copies of official game) have been released for rf1 since the release of our mod (unfortunately we planned to work on an evolution for rf1) and no doubt that it will be the case for rf2. We still check all the release of rf2 because we hope that the current gap will be solved by isi. IMHO, isi is not focused enough on modding issues, especially for the physics design (my role in apex team) and more precisely for the tire design. I hoped before rf2 release that isi will gave real design tools for the physic, on tire and also on suspension. But i think now that is over. Actually, months ago, I had the occasion to explain my position about tire design issues...
