Way back in November, we posted a blog post that talked about both F1 2015 and moving beyond, we even teased the idea of bigger community involvement, and said we’d tell you more in the coming months. We’re very proud to announce that the start is upon us, and this is going ahead! We’re holding it across 3 days from the 14th to 16th March in our Birmingham studios, and those invited will be able to get plenty of hands-on time with the game in development, as well as helping us to refine the final product. They’ll also get to see our studio, meet the team, ask questions and discuss the franchise. Firstly, we’d like to thank everyone who put themselves forward in our nomination thread. We had over 100 people nominated, and as you can imagine, picking the people to invite along was incredibly difficult. Narrowing everyone down was a very difficult task, as we’d love to invite you all, but we’ve picked 8 people to visit our Birmingham studios, and these are: DauntingConch Tiametmarduk Worntoathread xMattyG jinCHEZ Aarava Alex Gillon TRL_Limitless This is just the start of a journey, and we’re looking to involve and engage you all on a level we haven’t done before. The first stage of which is this survey here, which will help us understand how you like to play F1 2015 and how you’d like to see F1 games progress. Your answers will help us to shape the franchise.

Iconic McRae liveries. Seven new cars. Vintage full gravel Pikes Peak. All this and more, arriving to DiRT Rally on April 5th 2016. Available for pre-order on PS4 and XBox One now: www.dirtgame.com

DiRT Rally v1.0 e Winter Wonderland DLC

The update also brings two new cars to the game, the Hyundai Rally and the Volkswagen Polo Rally. These cars are the most recent additions to the pinnacle of the sport and they are the perfect way to round off our Early Access programme. The Winter Wonderland update also sees the introduction of Steam Workshop support that allows players to share Car Setup & Force Feedback settings. You can find a guide for this here: DiRT Rally Service Park - Guide You can get started with settings from our simulation team here: Developer Service Pack We’ve also made improvements and refinements made to Global Leaderboards and League support. Here’s the rundown of other stuff that’s new this month: You can now tune your immersion levels by customising your OSD options, choosing between On, Countdowns Only and Off. The Logitech G29 wheel is now correctly listed in the controller preset menu. Custom Championships now reward you with the correct number of credits. There’s a new EULA to sign when you boot the game, which asks you to kindly behave yourself when you’re playing with others. Your favourite pet mouse has learnt a new trick, and can now change the livery on your car. If you own an Owner’s Club event, you will now correctly own the Owned achievement. If you pledge a wedge to an online Wager Event and the event ends while you’re on stage, we’ll give you your CR back. Your Oculus Rift can now be toggled to lock the horizontal orientation. Look for a flag in the hardware configuration file. Sliders on the Advanced Racing Wheel Options screen now increment at the same rate as the Steering and Pedal calibration screen. Your Service Crews are back from their training course and will now correctly setup your car for multi-location events. Stopped one set of Rallycross results from appearing on a Rally leaderboard. You no longer need to hold the headlight control to activate your lights. You can now just tap that. Windows accounts with accented and non-latin characters will now correctly save game settings. Fixed a weird bug where the camera would briefly flick back to the default position at the start of a stage after customising the seat position. Kick_Up will now politely and calmly inform you if your wheels fall off, and if you’re going the wrong way. As ever, please stop by the forums and let us know what you think of version 1.0 and how you think we did in early access. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Here's a run-down of what the patch contains... Game Added a session list screen which is available via the Multiplayer menu. This screen will allow players to search for all public sessions and join the one they want to. Custom and Hopper sessions will be visible on this list. Multiplayer fixes and improvements: Added additional information to lobbies so players can see how much progress has been made in the current session. Parc ferme rules are no longer incorrectly applied so players will not get their fuel locked to 100kg in qualifying or not be able to change their tyres at the start of a race if they qualified outside the top ten. Fixed an issue that would cause a players car to always be ghosted during timed qualifying sessions. Fixed framerate and lag spikes causing incorrect collisions. Fixed a bug that meant connections with limited upload bandwidth would appear laggy while on track and eventually disconnect. Disallowing Brake Assist will no longer also block ABS. Cars will no longer ghost when driving too slowly on track. Fixed a bug which made the screen pulse black when spectating specific cars in specific circumstances. Minor hopper improvements and changes Removed the AI from all hoppers. Removed the assist restrictions from the Hardcore hopper. Made the countdown timer longer and prevented it from starting for a short time if there are not many players in the session to try to allow more people to join. Changed the grid order to random from realistic. So now the players Mercedes cars will not always start on the front row. Updated the Feature Race to Brazil. [*]Removed the incorrect second DRS detection zone from the Mexico mini map. This was not present in the actual track data. [*]Corrected the number of laps for the Mexican Grand Prix. [*]The player is now correctly disqualified for not using both compounds in a dry weather race. [*]Improvements to AI behaviour in Qualifying: AI will no longer all leave the garage at the same time. AI will no longer use Prime tyres in Q2. AI will always do two runs in Short Qualifying and Q3. [*]Fixed the flashing rear tyre issue present on some PC setups. [*]Made the D-Pad menu more responsive to use. [*]Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause OSD messages to remain on screen or to never display. This was mostly reported online but can be seen offline too. [*]Fixed an issue that would cause new tyres to be too cold when they’re put on at a pit stop. [*]Fixed a problem that could cause unrealistic lap times in practice and qualifying. Sports Updates – Part 1 Adjusted the relative performance of the teams and drivers based on the season’s results so far. Updated the tyres for Russia to Super Soft and Soft. High End PC Enhancements New CPU-driven particle effects to improve visual quality on systems with high-end CPUs. Select “high” or “ultra” particle effects from the options menu. DiRT Rally: Flying Finland Update

It’s time for version 0.8 and we are returning to our rally roots with the mighty Flying Finland pack. We’ve added 12 new stages from Finland, the world’s fastest rally and two iconic cars driven by our local heroes from one of the greatest battles in rally championship history. Add to this a new game mode and loads of fixes and features and this pack is almost as big as those Finnish jumps and crests. Oh, and did we mention mouse support for the menus? You did want that right...? So here is what’s new: 12 new rally stages near Jämsä, Finland All new 2000s vehicle class 2 new cars - Subaru Impreza 2001 and Ford Focus RS Rally 2001 Custom Championships – You can now tweak the number of events, stages and AI difficulty. This will mean that you can set up an event that suits the amount of time you have available and get rewarded accordingly. Mouse Support! – Yep you asked for it so here it is. It’s still a work in progress so please give us your feedback on how we can improve it. We’ve reworked the handling on our 60s, 70s, 80s RWD and 2010s classes – these changes have seen improvements to the way we model suspension and tyres, along with engine and aero rework they really make the cars feel a lot more dynamic to drive. We’ve updated the engine audio for the 1995 Subaru Impreza in the Group A class. We’d like to say a massive thank you to Ryan Champion for letting us use his awesome car for the recording! We’ve wrapped our replays so you can rewind from the start of a replay to watch the final section of your run much faster than you could before. We’ve added a new ‘Invite Friends’ option in the lobby to make it easier for you to get the people you want into your PVP races. Here’s what we’ve fixed: The audio FX levels for the surfaces and kick up have been brought back so that you can hear all that gravely goodness. We sent our Rallycross AI drivers to the opticians so that they can now see when they need to avoid other cars when they are approaching the joker entrance. Now that they can see better they are also setting faster laps. We’ve fixed the camera clipping in certain camera angles when you changed the Field of View. We’ve made some Hyper threading fixes that should now prevent those annoying stuttering issues that some of you were having. We’ve stopped the Engineer contract lengths and costs from being affected when competing in league events. Toggling Push to Talk or enabling/disabling voice communications through the pause menu is now actually working. The Reset Timer has now been increased to 15 seconds when attempting to get back on track. I know we said that before but this time it is actually in. Cars will no longer roll over on the start in PVP races, ROFL. We’ve made sure that the cars are visible on the start line even when collisions are turned off in PVP – they will still ghost during the race though. Your PVP opponents won’t be showboating and driving around with the handbrake on anymore. The gear setup will no longer be changing between stages without a service area. We’ve fixed those odd camera angles that were being used in spectate mode. The miles driven using owned vehicles in PVP now accrue towards unlocking upgrades for that vehicle. When viewing a replay using an interior camera, the speedometers now show the correct speed for all vehicles. We’ve fixed a whole host of other stuff too but they were too boring to call out in this list. Be sure to let us know how we’re doing, or just stop the forums by to say hello. Stay mid over BIG jump!

We’ve also added a stack of new features and changes including: A new World RX track - Hell, Norway New Rallycross drivers including, Liam Doran and Petter Solberg Wet weather for all Rallycross tracks Three new cars: DS3, MINI Countryman Rallycross and Subaru WRX STI Brand new Wager Daily Event Some new advanced gamepad options Added a “Very Early” option for your Co-Driver calls A frankly amazing set of Hints and Tips for you to read during loading screens Removed the additional time penalty when the Off Track Reset Countdown expires and upped the limit on the timer We’ll now show you your 'Fastest lap' onscreen for an entire Rallycross Event Clutch Override which will give you the ability to use your clutch to override the automatic gearbox clutch And that’s not all! On top of all that goodness above we’ve also made the following additions and changes to DiRT Rally. *bleep bloop* new achievements Added a toggle for ‘Clutch Override’, which allows you to override the automatic clutch (allowing for clutch kicking) ‘Advanced gamepad options’ are now available for joysticks... Yup somebody out there is playing DiRT Rally with a joystick Message added indicating if you’ve missed the entrance or exit of the joker lap. Optimised all routes for Lydden Hill so it chugs less Graphical Improvements to all stages on the Holjes Circuit as well as the routes for Powys, Wales and Pikes Peak Those excessive gravel surface sounds have been toned down – which should also help with stuttering audio Fixed an issue where the Community delta time splits were being incorrectly shown in the Pant Mawr stage from Wales Light pods no longer show on day routes when using the bonnet / interior cameras on certain vehicles Direct Input slider axis enumeration has been fixed which is a fancy way of saying this should solve issues with pedal bindings, most frequently the clutch Rallycross friend leaderboards now only show the players fastest lap time Abandoning a Rallycross Daily Event now uploads the stage maximum, rather than the time the game was paused... oops Jump starting certain Rallycross tracks no longer results in the players lap counter refusing to increment when passing the start/finish line Fix for the Founder liveries disappearing after the player resets their profile Community delta times are now displayed correctly in the standings before the event begins The Community delta times that were invalid on some tracks have now been reset Crossing a reset line will now always result in you receiving a penalty The Rallycross AI will now find the correct gear at the start of the race and not comically reverse Joker laps will now register even when exiting the joker sector backwards... Because sometimes it’s fun to show off The AI will now take the Joker lap in a Rallycross event less than 4 laps The AI should no longer accidently take a Joker lap when switching paths after losing control. Did you ever see that bug where the Rallycross AI would drive into a barrier, reverse, then drive into again? It was pretty funny but we thought we better fix it Used your data to improve our AI across all Rallycross routes. They’ll now put up much more of a challenge Just like every time we release an update there are a few things which we know won’t be perfect, don’t forget that DiRT Rally is in Early Access still and we need you to help us polish it. We’re confident that everything should run smoothly and thank you to all our players who have been helping us test this latest update. So if you spot something that isn’t quite right or working as you expect be sure to swing by either the Codemasters Forums or Steam Forums to let us know. As ever thank you for your support so far, we know we say this a lot but we really are grateful of all the feedback to date. Next month we head to Finland for the fastest and most exciting update yet.

    DiRT Rally: arriva il Rallycross

The FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy has signed a new partnership with successful video game developer Codemasters in order for World RX to be featured in DiRT Rally. The game is now available on Steam Early Access. The first stage of this partnership will see the RX Supercars, tracks and racing modes implemented into DiRT Rally as part of Codemasters’ commitment to deliver regular content updates during the game’s Early Access phase on Steam. Owners of the game will soon be able to drive a choice selection of these cars for themselves across three different game modes and experience the sheer speed, action, dynamism and performance that makes World RX one of the fastest growing motorsports in the world. As with previous updates, this new content will be available free of charge to existing owners. The tracks that have currently been built and included in the game are Holjes (Sweden) and Lydden Hill (Great Britain). The Hell circuit in Norway will be added in the near future. DiRT Rally’s Lead Designer, Paul Coleman, explained: “From the outset we wanted DiRT Rally to be the ultimate off-road racer and to fulfil that vision we knew we had to include World RX. Since the launch in Early Access back in April we have continued to add new, diverse content to the game and World RX will add another dimension that will challenge even the most experienced players.” At the World RX round in Sweden over the weekend, the Championship’s top drivers were able to test-drive virtual versions of the 600bhp RX Supercars that compete in the World Championship. “Codemasters have done a brilliant job – the detail is very realistic and not far from real life,” explained Team Volkswagen Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson, who is currently second in the overall World RX drivers’ standings. “As drivers, we always want to change the smallest things on our cars, but this version is very good. There are just a couple of tweaks that need to be made and then I think it will be just like driving the real thing. It’s by far the best rallycross game I have played.” Martin Anayi, World RX Managing Director for IMG, concluded: “It was great to have the Codemasters team with us in Holjes over the weekend, which allowed us to showcase our new joint game venture to over 40,000 fans. Codemasters has worked exceptionally hard to get this project off the ground and it’s been encouraging to hear such positive feedback from our drivers after they had test-driven the game. We are very excited about our new collaboration with Codemasters and look forward to working with the team more closely to help develop the game further.”

“We've completely remodelled the physics engine and the simulation of how these cars are represented, and that’s given us an incredibly solid foundation on which to build from. We're getting a lot of this information out of reference books, manufacturers will correct us in some cases, or approve them in others, and we’re then using our new physics simulation engine. We're able to put those numbers in much more faithfully than we've ever done before, so that every car actually feels like it does in real life.”
Possiamo quindi sperare? Following a dramatic start to this year’s FORMULA ONE™ season and just in time for the second round at the Malaysian Grand Prix we’re pleased to finally share with you some details on the official game of the 2015 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™. F1TM 2015 is launching in June and you’ll be able to play it on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. As we’ve confirmed previously the game has been built on an all new version of EGO tailored to deliver the ultimate FORMULA ONE videogame experience and act as a significant step forward in the game’s visuals and physics-based handling model. The new model delivers enhancements and additions in over 20 areas including engine and transmission, aero dynamics, fuel tank, force feedback, suspension and most notably a brand new tyre physics model – creating a truly breathtaking and realistic representation of how these cars handle on the track. The buzz and excitement that surrounds each GRAND PRIX™ is incredible, and we wanted to transfer that to F1 2015 with an all-new broadcast style presentation that’ll deliver that unmistakable race-day weekend atmosphere. You’ll be seeing all of this in the Championship Season mode, the brand new (and very challenging) Pro Season mode and of course Quick Race and Multiplayer too. Using the voice recognition technology available for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles you’ll be able to interact with your race engineer like never before. Through in-game voice commands with Kinect for Xbox One and the PlayStation®Camera or compatible headsets for PlayStation 4 you can ask for race info, updates on the weather, tyre status, request tyres and even front wing changes… And that is just a few of the many options available. We know a lot of our fans wanted to play F1 TM 2014 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, so as well as being the official videogame of the 2015 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP we’re also including the cars, drivers and tracks from the 2014 season as bonus content. All built from the ground up with our updated handling and new game features. Here’s what Game Director, Paul Jeal had to say about the game - “F1 2015 marks an exciting new chapter for Codemasters and FORMULA ONE; it’s a shift in direction for the game series, on new formats and our brand new game engine, with the game set to be released earlier in the season, launching this June,” The handling is a vast improvement from our previous games. In particular our new tyre model is a superb step forward towards realism, letting you explore where the limit is and allowing you to instantly feel much more connected with the car. You can now experience the changes in grip caused by temperature changes, wear, car set-up, debris and weather conditions. Our improved vehicle dynamics much more accurately convey the difference in performance and the feel between mechanical and aerodynamic grip. The new Force Feedback system adds to the feeling of connection with the car and track surface. The more natural and realistic nature of the game physics also serves to ensure that the racing experience is more accessible, enjoyable and rewarding for players of all skill levels.” With the second race of the 2015 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP this weekend in Malaysia, the team is busy modelling the new 2015 cars and drivers in readiness for the game’s summer launch. You can see a tease of our first signed off 2015 content in our debut screenshots, as well as an early glimpse of the Mexican circuit. In addition to the 2015 season, we are also delighted to be able to offer the 2014 season as a bonus selectable season. Even this far out from our games release they truly show the power of our new game engine.” F1 2015 will be launching in June on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
