L'anno 2000 viene ricordato come il primo del nuovo millennio, ma in tanti lo ricordano come l'anno zero del simracing, visto che proprio venti anni fa uscì, sotto etichetta Microprose, il Grand Prix 3 di Geoff Crammond, titolo mitico che, dopo il Grand Prix Legends dei Papyrus di due anni prima, consolidava definitivamente il genere della "simulazione di guida".
