Con un comunicato sui social, il team SimBin ha appena annunciato che il nuovo ed atteso progetto GTR3 viene di fatto "resettato" e ripartirà completamente da zero!
Le ultime immagini di gioco risalgono addirittura all'Agosto 2019, poi ad inizio Dicembre 2020 gli sviluppatori avevano dato qualche timida informazione in più, per stupire tutti il 28 dello stesso mese con l'apertura del canale Discord ufficiale. Negli ultimi 3 mesi però si era tornati nel più cupo silenzio, anche su Discord, lasciando presagire che qualcosa non stesse funzionando a dovere...

Niente più dichiarazioni ottimistiche. Sappiamo di avervi deluso tutti: non solo una volta, ma in più di un'occasione nel corso degli anni. La spinta a realizzare GTR3 è sempre stata concreta: tutti noi vogliamo realizzare qualcosa di degno del nome GTR e quel desiderio è ancora lì. Il team di sviluppo ha lavorato sodo e ha compiuto progressi reali. Purtroppo una combinazione di problemi ha ostacolato la consegna.
I problemi sono stati aggravati da comunicazioni troppo ottimistiche, ma come ci mostra la storia dei giochi, l'ottimismo non fornisce risultati. Ora è il momento di resettare e ricominciare. La buona notizia è che c'è un nuovo impulso dietro il progetto. Simbin Studios UK fa parte del gruppo KW Automotive e siede al fianco di Sector 3 Studios, il team dietro il simulatore RaceRoom. KW ha una ricca eredità nel motorsport e porta la conoscenza del mondo reale al tavolo, supportando le squadre nelle serie di punta di tutto il mondo. Lo studio RaceRoom ha prodotto una straordinaria gamma di contenuti ed è completamente integrato nel mondo delle corse simulate.
Il portafoglio di KW include anche i marchi di hardware per simulazioni di gara di fascia alta TrackTime e Ascher Racing, che realizzano rispettivamente telai per sim e incredibili basi direct drive. Il solido talento di Simbin Studios UK sarà supportato da risorse aggiuntive e da un nuovo piano. Quando riemergeremo da questo esilio autoimposto, sarà solo con fatti reali e concreti, dal primo giorno. Le lezioni sono state apprese.
A quanto pare quindi, potrebbe persino venir fuori una collaborazione tra SimBin e Sector 3, ma al momento non è chiaro in quale direzione. L'unica cosa che possiamo fare quindi, è ammirare ancora una volta degli screens che forse non si concretizzeranno mai in qualcosa da guidare...

Unfortunately a combination of issues has hindered delivery. The problems have been compounded by over-optimistic communications – but as gaming history shows us, optimism doesn’t deliver results.
You deserve more.
Now is the time to reset and go again. The good news is that there is fresh impetus behind the project. Simbin Studios UK is part of the KW Automotive group and sits alongside Sector 3 Studios – the team behind the venerable RaceRoom sim. KW has a rich heritage in motorsport and brings real-world knowledge to the table, supporting teams in top-line series the world over. The RaceRoom studio has produced an amazing array of content and is fully embedded in the sim racing world. KW’s portfolio also includes high-end race sim hardware brands TrackTime and Ascher Racing, making sim frames and amazing direct-drive wheels respectively.
The solid talent in Simbin Studios UK will be backed up by additional resources and a fresh plan. When we re-emerge from this self-imposed exile, it will only be with real, hard facts – from day one.
The lessons have been learned.
