Come abbiamo detto in questa notizia GRID sarà uno dei titoli di lancio di Google Stadia, il nuovo servizio di videogiochi in streaming di Google, ma non è tutto. Con l'arrivo su Stadia arriva anche una nuova modalità: la modalità Endurance
Tramite il suo blog Codemasters ha rilasciato le prime informazioni di questa modalità: 40 auto in una gara multiclass con 4 classi, sia in modalità Free Play che in Multiplayer. In multigiocatore una volta entrati nella modalità Skirmish sarà possibile scegliere l'auto tra 4 classi preselezionate che prenderanno parte alla gara. Poi si prenderà parte ad una sessione di qualifica hotlap che determinerà la griglia di partenza.
In Free Play sarà ovviamente possibile scegliere le 4 classi che comporranno la griglia di partenza (massimo 40) e sarà possibile scegliere la durata della gara, da un minimo di 5 minuti ad un massimo di 60. Non ci sono limitazioni nella scelta delle classi, con la possibilità di creare una multiclass IMSA o WEC con i prototipi e le GT presenti nel gioco o una multiclass di fantasia con classi a scelta.

Still, for Stadia players, we didn’t think that was enough. We were keen to find out how the power of Stadia could be used to create an exclusive addition to GRID. The end result? A new race type, replicating one of the oldest and most celebrated forms of motor racing. A discipline fraught with danger, challenge, and pure glory.
This is Endurance.
GRID’s racing experience already delivers big on action and drama with 16 cars on the circuit. With GRID on Stadia, Endurance mode expands the grid size to up to 40 cars, split across four different classes, playable in both Free Play and Multiplayer.
Online, a new Quick Match Endurance option has been added for Stadia, allowing players to lobby up and compete against each other in longer-format races. As you head into Skirmish, you’ll be able to select your chosen car from the four pre-set classes that will take part in the race. A Hot Lap Qualifying session will then dictate the grid order and which car class you fall into.
In Free Play, choose the new Endurance discipline and you’ll be able to customise the event to your preferences. Choose the amount of cars on circuit (up to 40), choose the time limit for the race (five-minute intervals, with a maximum length of 60 minutes), and choose the four classes that will form the grid, with the ability to mix and match across the game’s entire car roster. Want to design a traditional Endurance event with our GT machines (as used in IMSA and WEC championships) on Silverstone or Indianapolis? Cool. Want to make a fantasy Endurance race, with historic Can-Am prototype machines on our infamous street circuits, like Havana or Shanghai? Go for it. Endurance mode has the same accessibility and ability to customise as Race or Time Attack, allowing you to create the exact Endurance race you want.
The goal of Endurance races is to finish first in your class, using skill and tactics to not let the other classes interfere with your race. Set a quick qualifying time, start strong and settle into a groove for the best chance of a class victory.
Endurance mode is joined on GRID for Stadia by the entire existing slate of modes, features and content that PC, Xbox One and PS4 players have been enjoying since October. On the go or from home with your chosen device, conquer our globe-trotting Career mode, with over 100 events all leading to a showdown with the infamous Ravenwest motorsport. Head to Multiplayer to jump seamlessly into Quick Match races against the world, or use Private Match to design your own custom lobby to invite your friends (or enemies) into.
Personalise your experience with customisable liveries for the entire roster of 60+ cars, ranging from official modern-day motorsport machines, to classic Touring and GT heroes, to road-going JDM icons, and everything in between. Edit your player card and banner to show your style and flaunt your in-game accolades. Take the keys to our totally open event creator to design the race of your dreams. Do all this with GRID’s easy-to-learn, hard-to-master gameplay and handling model, with assists and helpers for rookie drivers, or a truly testing all-assists-off experience for hardcore racers.
