VELOCIPEDE
Update #6 Dear backers! We continue moving forward! Pedals Thanks for submitting the pedals usage survey and custom answers. Your response confirmed our expectations about the need of anti sliding accessory, so we have made the final revised revision of it and it will make it available. Parts and components sourcing is still on the go. But we have fully completed 66 of 94 bom items for the whole batch and the rest is on the go (several parts are already manufactured but are being coated / painted etc.) We are still struggling and coming through revisions with the packaging that will guarantee damage-free delivery. Will keep you informed on that. We have also ran into unexpected problems with load cell silicone protection coating so had to design a mold based solution. We have also been getting paint quality issues with contractor, but have already solved them successfully. Recently we were busy moving the stock and assembly to a new place as we ran out of space at the office. We are also in the process of electronics certification. It should go out smoothly but anyway we will keep you guys informed how it goes. Also working on calibration and firmware update software. It is up and running but steel needs bug fixing and refactoring. There were several propositions from you guys to send first production units for review, and we fully support this decision. We will send the first units for a review as soon as we will have them fully finalized including software and electronics certification. Wheel We continue working on new wheel PCB firmware, settings software and putting everything together / debugging / refactoring. We also had to redesign power source PCB according to certification requirements. New power source PCBs are on the way for assembly and testing. We fully understand that you guys want to get hands on products and start racing as soon as possible. And so do we. And we are doing our best within the given circumstances and we are really sorry for the manufacturing delays, but this is how it goes when reality bites. So please don’t give up on faith in our common success with these great new products! Let’s do it together! Your support is greatly appreciated! VELOCIPEDE
Update 7 Dear backers, We continue moving forward with the manufacturing as fast as possible. Our new team member Pavel is now spending full time at the manufacturing along with Alex, speeding up the process, helping controlling quality and managing logistics. We also strengthened the production team with 3 more helping persons and adviser consultations. Despite that we are still hitting a bottleneck with our current sheet metal contractor. This is not a critical issue, but still we would like to progress faster with the batch and are seeking for the possibility to diversify and parallelize this situation. Since previous update we have produced several parts in batch and are in the continuing process of producing the rest. We have completely done 71 out of 96 BOM items so far. We will present the exact production timeline in the next update. As annoying as it is, continue to struggle with cost effective yet functional packaging design that passes drop test. But we are getting closer and are hopefully on a final lap on this one. Regarding software and firmware, we have finished calibration and firmware update features and the only thing left is the software setup project that is being finalized. Wheel At this point we are done with button boxes and encoder firmware fixes, but are still in the process of development of motor control firmware and settings software. New power source PCB have been successfully tested and approved for production. Regarding mechanical production, we will be able to use pedals manufacturing experience to speed things up and get much smoother experience compared to what we are experiencing now with pedals manufacturing. Thank you guys for your patience and please stay tuned for the next update
VELOCIPEDE
Nuovo update Quote Update 8 Dear backers, We keep applying many positive changes to our work which leads to Pedals production speed-up without quality loss, better communication and updates frequency and a lot of different small positive changes overall in order to increase company productivity. We are grateful to the active members of the community for your involvement in the project and desire to improve certain aspects for the good of all. We don't want you to feel anxious about upcoming update every time, so from now on, we will announce upcoming update dates in advance. Pedals We have came up with realistic production timeline and are successfully making through it so far. According to it, we will be able to fulfill parts manufacturing and start assembly by November and start shipping by December, hopefully getting most of the packages delivered by the New Year. Wheel Many of you guys are waiting for the Wheel and we understand all the bad feelings you might have regarding just Pedals being produced at this time. But that was strategic decision we had to take in order to move forward with both products. Initially, we have got way more orders than we expected and our initial team of four appeared too small to handle both products production and DFM effectively, considering this is the first time ground-up built manufacturing process for our team. We have gained and continue to gain a lot of experience during the Pedals production to utilize and avoid past mistakes when Wheel batch production will start. We will be ready to start it after Pedals batch shipment. Meantime, we will continue to improve the firmware and software aspects of the product. Getting ready with tooling, certification, and various small yet important aspects of the product. Refunds At this stage, we can’t afford to issue refunds in order to protect the interests of all our backers as far as much amount of funds are already put into production, inventory and tooling. Thanks for your support and please stay tuned for the next update which will be on Aug 15. Best, Feel VR Team.
