GTR 3 by Simbin arriva nel 2019 ?

In una intervista a RaceDepartment, Allan Speed, nuovo responsabile del redivivo team Simbin, ha confermato ufficialmente che il nuovo e lungamente atteso GTR 3, terzo capitolo della mitica saga GT della software house svedese, vedrà la luce nel 2018 ! GTR 3, che sarà il primo titolo della rinascita Simbin, utilizzerà il noto Unreal 4 e sarà sviluppato per PC, Xbox One e PlayStation 4.

Speed: "The plan will be at some point to branch off" said Allan. "It will be proper simulation but for the console version the casual user is just as important. At some point RaceRoom will switch over to the technology we are creating and we'll just take that a different route, as in simulation with support for both console and PC."

In proposito, il team Sector3, sviluppatore di RaceRoom e legato strettamente al neonato team Simbin, ha precisato: "I think another point we need to take note of is, whilst the PC community would love this hard core simulation thing which is fine, as Allan said there is a console community that aren't going to fully adhere to that. The product at the end of the day needs to appeal to both sides, hardcore racer as awell and the casual gamer. A game that does that really really well is Formula One. I can have fantastic fun in the simulator on PC and I can have just as much fun as a casual gamer on a console. They do it really well. I'm not saying that's something we are going to follow completely, I'm just saying that they've done it and it's possible... The best way to put it is neither side will be forgotten."

L'obiettivo dei Simbin è quello di avere una beta di GTR 3 pronta nel giro di 6 mesi: "The plan is after 6 months we'll have a first playable. We are working on deals at the minute with publishers which takes time of course. We'll have something on all three platforms, it will be one track, weather, damage, new particle system, physics and AI. I suspect we'll have multiple cars on that track with all the new systems running".

Inoltre GTR 3 non sarà un titolo da giocare esclusivamente online come RaceRoom: "The only thing you'll need internet for is if you want to race online multiplayer, that's it. That's very different from R3E. In R3E we are using Steam wallet and a shop portal that needs an internet connection. All those things mean you have to be always online. With GTR it’s a standalone product"

Il team Simbin ci mostra oggi alcuni spettacolari screenshots in game del suo prossimo GTR3. Le immagini, scattate a Spa, mostrano in azione il potente motore grafico Unreal 4 Engine che equipaggerà il gioco. Allan Speed dei Simbin ha inoltre spiegato:

Well with unreal we will have aquaplaning and water displacement that will affect the handling of the car. Its a great opportunity to move forward the wet weather implementation found in current racing games.

CS: Well we know we are going to make GTR3. Right now we have a couple of options on the table regarding how we are going to do it. There are two ways we can go. We can either fully fund the project ourselves or we can get a publisher on board, and that is where we are at today. Of course the strategy for Allan and the studio in Manchester is they need to get to a certain point of development before we can take that decision. So we put a budget in place, Allan has that budget and he's using it month after month and with more people joining the company over the next eight weeks we need to get to that point first and that's our target right now. Then we asses what we've achieved and at that point we take a decision.

GTR3: nuovo sito Simbin, screens ed intervista

Il risorto team Simbin ha inaugurato proprio oggi il suo nuovo sito web ufficiale, annunciando anche di essere alla ricerca di personale e di essersi trasferito a Manchester. L'annuncio è accompagnato da alcuni spettacolari screenshots inediti dell'atteso GTR3, sul quale possiamo leggere una interessante intervista fatta da Racedepartment.

Dopo un anno di silenzio (l'ultima voce era del marzo scorso) e dopo aver inaugurato il nuovo sito web ufficiale, annunciando anche di essere alla ricerca di personale e di essersi trasferito a Manchester, finalmente oggi il team SimBin è tornato a farsi sentire, con un "cinguettio" su Twitter: "stiamo lavorando duramente su GTR3, vi mostreremo di più in futuro"... Ben poco quindi, ma almeno sembrano essere ancora attivi! Ancora una volta fra l'altro offrono posti di lavoro specializzati.

SimBin Studios UK are still hard at work on GTR3, we have been quiet as the team are very busy, but looking forward to showing you more in the future!
